The successful candidate will take ownership of reconciliations, VAT, payroll, supplier payments and management reporting, while assisting customers with orders, deliveries and returns.\nThis position would suit someone who is highly organised, confident working independently and comfortable taking responsibility for deadlines in a small, fast-moving team.\nRequirements\nKey Responsibilities\nBookkeeping & Finance - approximately 60%\nComplete bank, card and payment-platform reconciliations in Xero across multiple entities.\nProcess supplier bills and sales invoices and maintain accurate purchase and sales ledgers.\nPrepare monthly supplier payment runs and payment files for approval.\nPrepare and process monthly payroll in Xero.\nPrepare and submit UK VAT returns, including requirements under Making Tax Digital (MTD).\nProduce monthly management information, including profit and loss, cash position and key costs.\nSupport month-end and year-end processes.\nLiaise with external accountants when required.\nMaintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and ensure key deadlines are met. \nCustomer Service - approximately 40%\nRespond professionally to customer enquiries via email and telephone.\nAssist customers with orders, products, deliveries and returns.\nFollow up on delivery issues and coordinate with relevant internal teams and couriers.\nMaintain accurate customer and order information.\nProvide additional customer support during busy periods.\nEssential Requirements\n3+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience.\nStrong practical experience using Xero, including bank feeds, reconciliations and payroll.\nExperience preparing and submitting UK VAT returns, ideally under Making Tax Digital.\nExperience preparing supplier payment runs and processing payroll to monthly deadlines.\nStrong customer service experience across telephone and email.\nExcellent written and spoken English.\nStrong attention to detail and accuracy.\nAbility to work independently, manage priorities and meet deadlines without close supervision.\nHighly Desirable Experience\nPrevious experience supporting UK clients or businesses.\nKnowledge of UK payroll, PAYE and RTI.\nMulti-entity bookkeeping experience.\nE-commerce, retail, manufacturing or stock-based business experience.\nExperience with Dext or similar
