At our headquarters, a growing team of professionals drives our development across all renewable energy sectors, delivering tailored energy solutions that accelerate the energy transition.\nAs Tax Expert of Virya Group, based in Halle, you will play a key role in shaping and strengthening Virya Energy’s tax compliance and tax governance framework. You will act as the primary point of contact for all tax-related matters, including VAT, corporate income tax, transfer pricing, Pillar Two and other relevant tax matters.\nIn addition, you may be involved in a variety of M&A projects, providing tax support and contributing to the structuring and execution of transactions.\nResponsibilities:\nProvide broad tax support to group entities across direct taxes, transfer pricing, and international taxation, answering business questions with pragmatic and well-founded guidance.\n\nAnalyze the tax impact of business decisions, advise on the best course of action, and support implementation and follow-up to reduce liabilities and manage risk.\n\nContribute to key priorities such as Belgian (head-office) tax processes and tax optimization, worldwide tax processes, and transfer pricing support, including audits, compliance, documentation, and policy-related work.\n\nSupport international structuring projects, tax aspects of acquisitions, and selected corporate restructuring topics, including company conversions or mergers where relevant.\n\nHelp develop and document tax compliance processes, transfer pricing procedures, and parts of the tax control framework, ensuring implementation and adherence across the organization.\n\nSupport quarterly and annual tax accounting, including tax provisions, and contribute to tax audit strategies, collaboration with external advisors, and support in administrative or judicial tax defense matters when needed.\n\nWork closely with Legal, Finance, and local teams in an international, cross-functional environment, taking ownership in an autonomous and hands-on way while balancing operational execution with continuous improvement.\n\nRequirements\nYou hold a Bachelor’s or University degree in Tax, Finance, Economics or a related field, ideally complemented by a postgraduate qualification in taxation.\n\nYou have at least 5 years of relevant tax experience, ideally combining experience in tax consultancy and an in-house environment, with exposure to international taxation.\n\nYou have a strong background in corporate taxation, preferably in an international context. Experience with transfer pricing is considered a valuable asset.\n\nKnowledge of Belgian taxation is a plus, in particular experience with areas such as the Belgian investment deduction and R&D incentives.\n\nYou are a collaborative and entrepreneurial team player who also works with a high degree of autonomy and initiative. You enjoy taking ownership and are comfortable combining strategic thinking with hands-on execution.\n\nYou are fluent in English.
