Progress starts with you.\nJob Description\nSummary\nThe anti-fraud team works with two main systems, one of which is responsible for monitoring transactions and then communicating with third parties to verify whether the transactions are in order or if it is an attempted fraud, and another system that assists other modules in calculating fees and the like.\nWhat You'll Do:\nDevelop and maintain applications using Golang or Java, following clean code and best software engineering practices.\nDesign and implement scalable, reliable, and secure microservices architecture.\nCollaborate with engineering and product teams to refine and deliver technical solutions aligned with business needs.\nLeverage AWS services such as SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, S3, and EventBridge in day-to-day development.\nUse Terraform to provision, maintain, and evolve AWS infrastructure.\nWrite unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and system robustness.\nMonitor application health and performance using observability tools (metrics, logs, alerts).\nParticipate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.\nContribute to architectural and technical discussions, supporting continuous improvement and innovation.\nThis is a remote position. Remote positions may be required to be present at a Visa office with scheduled notice. #LI-Remote\nQualifications\nFor this role, you must be based in Brazil\nLanguage Skills \nProficiency in English at B1 level or above (Intermediate)\nBasic Qualifications:\n5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's or Associate’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)\nStrong experience with Java/JVM based languages\nExperience with Financial Industry or Payments / Authorization Systems.\nTechnical Skills:\nExperience with Financial Industry or Payments / Authorization Systems.\n5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer working in production environments.\nSkilled in Golang and adaptable to other languages like - Java/Groovy or JVM-related.\nAdvanced Git user resolves team version control issues.\nThorough code reviews focusing on cross-domain quality.\nWrites and validates unit, integration, performance, and end-to-end tests.\nExperienced with Swagger, flow diagrams, and API documentation, supports DEVEX and external publishing.\nProficient with Terraform, Argo, Jenkins, Codefresh for infrastructure and deployment understand related integrations.\nDeep product knowledge, active in feature planning and impact analysis.\nStrong relational database design and non-relational strategy, effective data modeling.\nProficient in AWS, applying optimal performance techniques.\nDesigns scalable microservices and evaluates architectural options.\nIdentifies and resolves distributed systems issues for improved reliability.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nWork with critical systems is a differential\nUnderstanding of observability practices (monitoring, tracing, alerting).\nExperience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot, GPT, Claude) to improve development efficiency and quality.\nVisa is an EEO Employer\nQualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or protected veteran status.
