Progress starts with you.\nJob Description\nRole Summary:\nThe Senior Network & Cloud Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, operating, and continuously improving highly available and secure network infrastructure supporting Visa's critical platforms and services.\nThis role requires deep hands-on expertise across cloud and enterprise networking, with responsibility for connectivity, routing, network security, troubleshooting, automation, and production operations. The engineer will work closely with SRE, Cloud, Security, Architecture, and application teams to deliver resilient network solutions and resolve complex production issues.\nThe ideal candidate combines strong traditional networking fundamentals with modern cloud networking and automation skills and is comfortable operating business-critical infrastructure in a 24x7 environment.\nAll roles require digital fluency, including the ability to work with emerging technologies such as Generative AI tools to support everyday work.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDesign, implement, and operate highly available network infrastructure across cloud and enterprise environments.\nDesign and support AWS networking, including VPCs, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPNs, routing, load balancing, DNS, and connectivity across multiple environments and regions.\nConfigure and troubleshoot routing protocols, network segmentation, firewalls, VPNs, NAT, DNS, and load-balancing solutions.\nSupport hybrid connectivity between cloud environments, data centers, partners, service providers, and external networks.\nProvide hands-on technical leadership for complex network incidents, troubleshooting connectivity, routing, latency, packet loss, and performance issues.\nDesign network solutions with resilience, redundancy, scalability, security, and disaster recovery requirements in mind.\nImplement network infrastructure and configuration through automation and Infrastructure as Code, reducing manual operational activities.\nBuild and improve network monitoring, observability, alerting, and capacity management.\nCollaborate with Security, Cloud, SRE, Architecture, application teams, vendors, and telecommunications providers on network designs and implementations.\nSupport network changes, maintenance activities, incident response, problem management, and root cause analysis.\nCreate and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, network diagrams, and troubleshooting guides.\nParticipate in an on-call rotation supporting critical production environments.\nThis is a remote position. A remote position does not require job duties be performed within proximity of a Visa office location. Remote positions may be required to be present at a Visa office with scheduled notice.\nQualifications\nBasic Qualifications:\nStrong hands-on experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting large-scale enterprise and cloud networks.\nStrong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, routing, switching, DNS, NAT, VPN, network segmentation, and load balancing.\nHands-on experience with AWS networking services such as VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Route 53, Elastic Load Balancing, and site-to-site VPN.\nExperience with enterprise firewall platforms and network security concepts.\nExperience with hybrid cloud and data center connectivity.\nExperience troubleshooting complex network issues using tools such as packet captures, flow logs, network telemetry, and traffic analysis.\nExperience with network monitoring and observability solutions.\nExperience automating network infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code and scripting, such as Terraform, Ansible, Python, or similar technologies.\nExperience operating highly available, business-critical production environments.\nExperience with incident management, root cause analysis, change management, and production support.\nStrong collaboration skills and experience working across infrastructure, cloud, security, architecture, and application teams.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nAdvanced experience with AWS networking in large-scale, multi-account, and multi-region environments.\nExperience with Fortinet, Cisco, or similar enterprise networking and security platforms.\nExperience with Direct Connect, carrier circuits, colocation/data-center networking, and connectivity with external partners.\nExperience with network automation and Infrastructure as Code at scale.\nExperience with Kubernetes and container networking.\nExperience designing resilient network architectures for high-volume distributed systems.\nExperience with network capacity planning, performance engineering, and observability.\nVisa is an EEO Employer\nQualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or protected veteran status.
