Progress starts with you.\nJob Description\nThe Staff Network Engineer operates the company’s internal data communications systems, including LANs and WANs. This role is responsible for planning, designing, and implementing networked systems, including configurations, supporting and troubleshooting network problems, and coordinating with vendors for installation of routers, bridges, concentrators, and switches. The position involves working on project implementation, providing training, assisting with proposal writing, conducting project planning, cost analysis, and vendor comparisons.\nAll roles require digital fluency, including the ability to work with emerging technologies such as Generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) to support everyday work.\nKey Responsibilities\nPlan, design, implement, and provide ongoing support for network systems of high complexity in extranet, commercial, and corporate environments to fulfill business needs.\nTroubleshoot and resolve complex network-related problems, serving as an escalation point for operational teams.\nProvide third-level technical support to network support teams and client institutions to resolve network issues and support the implementation of new network solutions.\nCollaborate with project managers, account managers, security, and network support teams for engineering requirements and end-to-end technical oversight.\nDevelop and maintain operational runbooks, network design documentation, and processes for continuous improvement and best practices.\nAssess and test new and evolving technologies for performance and cost benefits.\nParticipate in tasks related to change, incident, and problem management, including root-cause analysis and resolution.\nProvide training and guidance to network support teams and conduct internal technical briefings.\nBuild and maintain relationships with global and virtual teams and third parties on network development or support issues.\nLead development, testing, and QA functions to ensure secure delivery and fulfillment of project expectations.\nQualifications\nBasic Qualifications\n 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.\nExperience in designing, planning, documenting, and implementing LANs and WANs using the latest technology.\nExperience with cloud service provider ecosystems (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure).\nExperience with SD-WAN technologies.\nUnderstanding of TCP/IP network protocols, including common application protocols.\nExperience in high-availability networks in load-balanced, n-tier application environments.\nExperience leading complex global projects from development through implementation.\nDemonstrated ability to solve complex systems and network environment issues.\nAbility to write technical design and build documentation for all aspects of a technical infrastructure.\nAbility to represent technical and business issues and solutions to multiple levels internally and externally to support strategic organizational plans.\nPreferred Qualifications\nCisco certification or a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Engineering is preferred.\n3 years related experience in infrastructure/network environments and designing, planning, documenting, and implementing LANs and WANs.\nAdvanced process orientation and exhibited planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.\nPython and Ansible experience.\nITIL certification preferred.\nU.S. Applicants Only\nThe estimated salary range for this position is $131,600.00 to $ 210,300.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
