Vishay Barry is currently seeking applicants for a Equipment/Maintenance Technician II.\nJob Location: Attleboro, MA\nThe Equipment Maintenance Technician II is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and improvement of manufacturing equipment and selected facility systems in support of safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role is expected to work independently in diagnosing equipment issues, responding to breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, and completing repairs in a timely manner to minimize production downtime.\nThis position requires a hands-on technician with strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, solid maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, and the ability to support both legacy and specialized production equipment. The Equipment Maintenance Technician II will work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, and EHS to improve equipment reliability, maintain safe operations, and support the overall performance of the Attleboro site. Pay is $30/hr.\nWhat you will be doing:\nPerform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and selected facility systems.\n\nTroubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electromechanical equipment issues.\n\nRespond urgently and independently to equipment breakdowns and production-related maintenance needs.\n\nExecute preventive maintenance activities in accordance with established schedules, procedures, and site priorities.\n\nDiagnose root causes of equipment failures and support corrective actions to prevent recurrence.\n\nRead and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, equipment manuals, and related documentation.\n\nSupport the installation, setup, adjustment, relocation, and improvement of manufacturing equipment.\n\nAssist in maintaining equipment uptime, reliability, and safe operating condition across the site.\n\nWork closely with Process Engineering, Production, and Quality to resolve equipment-related issues affecting output, quality, or flow.\n\nIdentify and communicate spare parts needs, replacement recommendations, and equipment risks before failures occur.\n\nMaintain accurate maintenance records, repair history, and work documentation.\n\nFabricate, modify, or assist in the creation of simple guards, fixtures, brackets, and related components as needed to support operations.\n\nSupport outside contractors, equipment vendors, and service technicians during on-site work.\n\nMaintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with site standards and safe work practices.\n\nFollow all company safety requirements, including lockout/tagout, PPE, machine guarding, and safe maintenance procedures.\n\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment performance, uptime, sustainability, and maintenance effectiveness.\n\nPerform other maintenance-related duties as assigned based on business and operational needs.\n\nThis role is a non-exempt hourly position paying up to $38/hr depending on experience.\n\nWhat you will bring along:\nHigh school diploma or GED required.\n\nMinimum 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.\n\nStrong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability.\n\nExperience with pneumatics and basic hydraulics.\n\nAbility to read schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical drawings.\n\nPreventive maintenance experience on industrial or manufacturing equipment.\n\nStrong safety mindset, especially related to lockout/tagout, machine guarding, and safe maintenance practices.\n\nDemonstrated ability to support production urgently and independently with minimal supervision.\n\nAbility to use standard hand tools, power tools, meters, and maintenance testing equipment.\n\nGood problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.\n\nBasic computer skills for maintenance logs, work orders, parts lookup, and communication.\n\ncommunication.\nStrongly Preferred Qualifications\nExperience working with older legacy equipment in a manufacturing environment.\n\nExperience supporting ovens, CNC equipment, dicing/saw equipment, screen printers, or similar process equipment.\n\nFamiliarity with regulated manufacturing environments and documentation discipline.\n\nBasic PLC and electrical controls troubleshooting experience.\n\nAbility to fabricate or modify simple fixtures, guards, brackets, and components.\n\nTechnical school, vocational training, or an associate degree in industrial maintenance, electrical technology, mechanical systems, mechatronics, or a related field.\n\nExperience with preventive maintenance systems and/or CMMS platforms.\n\nCore Competencies\nStrong mechanical aptitude\n\nElectrical troubleshooting capability\n\nSense of urgency and responsiveness\n\nIndependent judgment and problem-solving ability\n\nReliability and accountability\n\nStrong safety awareness\n\nTeam collaboration\n\nAttention to detail\n\nContinuous improvement mindset\n\nAdaptability in a fast-paced manufacturing environment\n\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb throughout the workday.\n\nAbility to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.\n\nAbility to work on or around active manufacturing equipment and in industrial conditions.\n\nAbility to safely use ladders, hand tools, testing equipment, and maintenance devices.\n\nWork Environment\nThis position is based in a manufacturing environment and may involve exposure to moving mechanical equipment, noise, heat-generating equipment, dust, chemicals, and other industrial conditions.
