This role will drive next-generation device architecture, performance optimization, and technology strategy across our power and/or logic semiconductor portfolio.\nThis position is based in the Greater Phoenix Area, Arizona.\nWhat you will be doing:\nMOSFET Device & Technology Development\nDevelop and optimize advanced power MOSFET device structures and technologies to achieve electrical, reliability, cost, and manufacturability requirements.\nDesign new products to meet cost, performance, reliability, and manufacturing requirements.\nApply semiconductor device physics to analyze and optimize key performance parameters and efficiency in target applications.\nOriginate and evaluate new device concepts, materials, structures, and process technologies to deliver best in class performance.\nPerform technology benchmarking and competitive analysis of semiconductor devices and processes.\nContribute to technology roadmaps and long-term semiconductor R&D strategies.\nCore Competencies\nThe ideal candidate will demonstrate:\nStrong semiconductor device physics fundamentals.\nExpertise in device modeling and simulation.\nHands on electrical characterization of wafers or devices.\nDesign of Experiments and Statistical Analysis.\nStrong technical communication skills.\nCross-Functional Leadership\nWork closely with Process Engineering, Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Reliability, Applications Engineering, and Operations teams.\nLead technical projects and teams. Communicate development status, risks, results, and recommendations to engineering and management teams.\nCollaborate with global Vishay engineering organizations to leverage technology, best practices, and manufacturing capabilities.\nProvide technical mentorship and contribute to a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and disciplined problem solving.\nRequired Qualifications\nPh.D. in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science or Physics with a focus on semiconductor devices or device modeling.\nCandidates with a Master’s degree and 3+ years of industry experience in power semiconductor devices or related device/process development may also apply.\nStrong understanding of MOSFET device physics.\nFamiliarity with power MOSFET device structures and power electronics.\nExperience with wafer level bench testing or device characterization.\nExperience with simulation and CAD tools - process and device simulation using Synopsys Sentaurus or similar tools; layout using Cadence Virtuoso or similar tools.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with semiconductor thermal and mechanical modeling using Ansys or similar tools.\nExperience with design of experiments and statistical data analysis using JMP or similar tools.\nExperience with applying machine learning to semiconductor process and device modeling and optimization.\nExperience with Spice circuit simulations and compact model extraction.\nProgramming experience using Python, MATLAB, or similar tools.\nKnowledge of power MOSFET applications and power conversion topologies.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality\nTravel\nLimited travel may be required to support collaboration with Vishay manufacturing facilities, technology centers, suppliers, customers, or other engineering organizations.\nWhat can we offer you for your talent:\nVishay offers a comprehensive suite of benefit programs including health care coverage, financial support programs and other resources designed to help you achieve your personal and professional goals.
