Vishay Components, India is currently seeking applicants for R&D Mechanical Engineer Position.\nJob Base Location - Loni Kalbhor, Pune\nAbout the Role\nWe are looking for a talented and innovative R&D Mechanical Engineer to join our Power Capacitor development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the mechanical design, development, validation, and continuous improvement of power capacitor products used in industrial, renewable energy, traction, and power electronics applications\nWhat you will be doing:\n\n Design and develop mechanical assemblies and components for power capacitor products.\nCreate and maintain 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, specifications, and BOMs.\nPerform mechanical calculations related to structural integrity, thermal performance, vibration, and tolerance analysis.\nSupport New Product Development (NPD) activities from concept to production release.\nConduct design verification, validation, reliability, and environmental testing.\nLead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.\nCollaborate with electrical, manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and global R&D teams.\nEvaluate and qualify new materials, suppliers, and manufacturing processes.\nDrive cost reduction and product optimization initiatives.\nEnsure compliance with IEC, UL, and customer standards.\nPrepare technical reports, design documentation, and engineering change requests.\nWhat will you bring along:\nFull time bachelor's or master’s degree in mechanical engineering from reputed university.\nMinimum 3-5 years of experience in product design and development.\nExperience in power capacitors, passive components, power electronics, transformers, switchgear, or similar industries preferred.\nStrong knowledge of:\no Sheet metal design\no Mechanical packaging and enclosure design\no Thermal management\no Insulation systems\no Manufacturing and assembly processes\nProficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, NX, CATIA, or Inventor.\nGood understanding of GD&T, DFMEA, Design Reviews, and engineering documentation.\nExperience in design validation and reliability testing.\nPreferred Skills\nKnowledge of capacitor construction and materials.\nExperience with FEA and thermal simulations.\nFamiliarity with IEC 61071, IEC 60831, UL, or equivalent standards.\nExposure to APQP, PPAP, and product qualification processes.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent communication and teamwork abilities\nWhat can we offer you for your talent:\nVishay offers a comprehensive suite of benefit programs including health care coverage, financial support programs and other resources designed to help you achieve your personal and professional goals.
