Vishay San Jose is currently seeking applicants for a Senior Staff System Architect, Power to architect core control IP for the development of digitally controlled power management solutions. This will involve developing and expanding existing technology and also providing innovative solutions for identified technical challenges.\nThis is a senior role with high visibility that involves extensive interaction with management and cross-functional teams, such as Analog and Digital Design, System Applications, and Marketing\nJob Location:\nThe preferred location for this position is located San Jose, CA, which is well known as a vibrant city with many advantages that make it an attractive place to live. From its diverse culture, quality education, and thriving job market to its excellent weather and entertainment options, San Jose has much to offer residents.\nWhat you will be doing:\nDevelopment of system models and architectures to drive next generation digital power management solutions.\nDefinition and specification of advanced architectural circuits and systems for next generation products to satisfy product and market requirements.\nSelection and specification of key product building blocks.\nSupporting the delivery of architecture from modelling through to functioning silicon.\nDevelopment and maintenance of detailed system models to match silicon performance\nCorrelation of models with existing and proposed IC databases to facilitate IC design and verification activities.\nExtensive interaction and collaboration with product definers and IC design. Ability to communicate effectively with team members located in different geographical areas and time zones.\nDocumentation of architectures and results, and maintenance of them as necessary.\nInteraction with applications engineering for debug, simulation and resolution of customer difficulties.\nAbility to work to schedule.\nWhat you will bring along:\nPhD, post-graduate or degree qualification in Electronic Engineering or similar.\n10+ years’ relevant engineering experience.\n2+ years of people management experience with a design team.\n5-10% travel between Vishay locations, or to customers\nCandidates should have prior experience in System Architecture (preferred with patent history and/or publication record)\nExtensive expertise in control theory and digital signal processing.\nExperience developing architectures for digitally controlled power management IC’s\nExperience and knowledge of power conversion products and topologies (buck, buck-boost, boost, PMIC, VR…).\nCandidates are expected to have a high level of expertise in Matlab, Simplis or other system modelling environments.\nGood understanding of IC design is highly desirable to facilitate architectural trade-offs based on feasibility of implementation, and for the creation of achievable electrical circuit specifications.\nExcellent interpersonal skills and a co-operative/collaborative manner are required\nWhat can we offer you for your talent:\nVishay offers a comprehensive suite of benefit programs including health care coverage, financial support programs and other resources designed to help you achieve your personal and professional goals.
