Inspired by Christian values, we are dedicated to working with the most vulnerable families and communities regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or gender-to create lasting change in their lives.\nWe are inviting applications from suitably qualified and dedicated candidates to fill the following vacant position: Treasury Analyst -Grade 14 based at the Head Office in Lilongwe.\nPurpose of the Position\nReporting to the Finance Manager the Treasury Analyst will support the effective management of VFM’s liquidity, cash flows, funding, investments and banking relationships to ensure that the institution maintains adequate liquidity, meets its financial obligations on time, complies with regulatory requirements, and optimizes the use and cost of financial resources.\nThe position will provide timely and accurate treasury analysis to support management and ALCO decision-making, including cash-flow forecasting, liquidity monitoring, funding requirements, interest-rate analysis and financial risk management.\nKey Responsibilities\nA. Liquidity Management\nMonitor and manage VFM’s liquidity position to ensure sufficient funds are available for operational and financial obligations.\nPrepare liquidity reports, forecasts, and stress-testing analyses to support effective cash flow planning.\nTrack liquidity ratios against regulatory and internal requirements and identify potential funding gaps.\nMonitor cash balances across banks and branches and recommend optimal fund allocation and transfers.\nB. Bank Account and Cash Management\nOversee all bank accounts and daily cash position monitoring to ensure effective cash management.\nReview bank transactions, balances, and reconciliations while ensuring accurate records are maintained.\nCoordinate and monitor fund transfers and account funding requirements in line with approved authorization processes.\nTrack banking costs, interest income, and related treasury transactions to optimize financial performance.\nC. Funding and Borrowing Management\nManage and maintain records of all local and international borrowing facilities and lender obligations.\nMonitor loan drawdowns, repayments, maturities, interest payments, and covenant compliance.\nConduct funding requirement analyses and support negotiations with financial institutions and lenders.\nPrepare funding proposals, lender reports, and cost analyses to support efficient capital management.\nD. Investment and Surplus Cash Management\nMonitor surplus liquidity and identify suitable short-term investment opportunities.\nEvaluate investment options based on return, risk, liquidity, and maturity considerations.\nPrepare investment recommendations and monitor approved investments to maximize returns.\nEnsure all investment activities comply with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.\nE. ALCO / Asset and Liability Management Support\nPrepare treasury and liquidity reports for Asset and Liability Committee (ALCO) review and decision-making.\nConduct asset-liability, maturity-gap, and market risk analyses to support balance sheet management.\nMonitor liquidity, funding, and interest rate risks and provide recommendations for mitigation.\nTrack implementation of ALCO decisions and provide timely updates on key treasury indicators.\nF. Financial and Treasury Risk Management\nMonitor and assess liquidity, interest rate, foreign exchange, and funding risks in line with treasury policies.\nPerform scenario analysis and stress testing to evaluate the impact of changing market conditions.\nIdentify emerging treasury risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.\nEnsure compliance with approved treasury limits, risk parameters, and regulatory requirements, escalating breaches as required.\nMinimum Qualifications\nMinimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Banking, or a related field.\nProfessional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, would be an added advantage.\nAt least 3 years of relevant experience in treasury, banking, finance, financial analysis or a related function.\nStrong Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modelling and data analysis.\nStrong report-writing and presentation skills.\nExperience in banking or microfinance would be highly desirable.\nApplication Process\nInterested candidates should submit their application letter, detailed Curriculum Vitae, copies of certificates, and three traceable referees to:\nThe People, Culture and Administration Manager\n\nVisionFund Malawi\n\nPrivate Bag A232\n\nLILONGWE\n\nEmail: \nClosing date for receiving applications is 30 October 2026; female candidates are encouraged to apply.\nDisclaimer VisionFund Malawi does not use agents, nor solicit any form of payments for any application, training, interviewing, testing or any fees in connection with this recruitment.
