We take pride in doing that work well, and just as much pride in continuously improving how we do it.\nWhat You Would Do in This Role\nThe Project Procurement Lead is responsible for planning and performing procurement activities to ensure the timely purchase of materials, services and equipment to meet project requirements. Duties include:\nWorking within a project team environment, potentially on multiple projects\nEnforcing timely and cost-effective procurement while adhering to client requirements and proper procurement practices\nDeveloping and maintaining status reports\nDeveloping procurement plan and strategy documents\nReviewing and evaluating standard procurement documents including bid lists, requests for quotation / proposal and commercial bid evaluations\nOverseeing the purchase of complex engineered equipment and services as well as electrical, instrumentation, structural steel and piping commodity materials\nOverseeing the negotiation of commercial terms including but not limited to progress payments and terms and conditions\nAttending status meetings with clients, project management and suppliers\nDeveloping man-hour estimates, resource plans, schedules and relevant procurement procedures\nPeriodically reviewing departmental processes, procedures and standards, identifying areas of improvement, deficiencies and taking the necessary corrective action to maintain quality\nPlanning, scheduling and managing responsibilities, objectives and project milestones for the team\nManaging the performance of the team, including mentoring and coaching direct reports\nProviding input to, and participating in, Human Resources activities, including recruitment, terminations, and discipline\nPerforming other duties as requested\nRequirements\nMore than ten (10) years of procurement experience with a minimum of six years of\nprocurement experience, at a supervisory level, in an engineering, procurement, construction environment\nDemonstrated Advanced Negotiating Experience\nPost-secondary certification or equivalent experience\nExcellent organizational and communication skills\nProblem solving and decision-making skills\nAbility to adapt in a changing environment\nAbility to work without supervision\nStrong computer processing skills; competency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel\nFocus on quality with an acute attention to detail\nStrong communication and influencing skills\nPreferred\nOnly candidates located in Canada will be considered and this position is not eligible for relocation accommodation\nWhy People Like Vista\nWe do not just say we're a great place to work, our people do.
