This hands-on role supports a diverse, multi-vendor environment and requires strong troubleshooting skills, sound technical judgment, and the ability to work independently. The successful candidate will help maintain network availability, security, performance, and operational resilience in a compliance-driven environment.\nHow You'll Help Us Connect the World:\nNetwork Operations & Administration\nManage and maintain a multi-vendor network environment, including SonicWall, Fortinet, Cisco, Ruckus, and Loadbalancer.org technologies.\nAdminister and troubleshoot 100+ VPN endpoints to ensure secure, reliable connectivity across remote locations.\nSupport customer-managed networks, including Layer 2 point-to-point circuits, routing, switching, and integrated network services.\nRespond to incidents, perform root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and support planned maintenance.\nMonitor network availability and performance, proactively identifying and mitigating risks to maintain service reliability.\nHardware Deployment & On-Site Support\nInstall, rack, cable, configure, and deploy network equipment, VPN appliances, and related infrastructure.\nProvide on-site support for air-gapped networks in compliance with security and operational requirements.\nParticipate in an after-hours on-call rotation and respond to urgent network or facility needs.\n\nDisaster Recovery & Continuity\nSupport disaster recovery infrastructure through maintenance, testing, validation, and incident response.\nAssist with business continuity and disaster recovery planning to strengthen resilience and recovery readiness.\nTravel to remote facilities and recovery sites as business needs require.\nContinuous Improvement\nEvaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to network security, reliability, performance, and operational efficiency.\nCreate and maintain network diagrams, configurations, procedures, and technical documentation.\nPartner with technical teams, customers, vendors, and business stakeholders to plan and implement network solutions.\nRequired Qualifications for Consideration:\nInclude demonstrated competencies and physical, mental, & interpersonal skills.\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.\n5+ years of experience supporting enterprise network environments.\n5+ years of hands-on experience with switching, routing, firewalls, and VPN technologies.\n3+ years of experience with load-balancing technologies.\nExperience supporting multi-vendor network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, VPN appliances, and fiber/copper connectivity.\nStrong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.\nProven ability to create and maintain clear technical documentation.\nAbility to work independently in both remote and on-site environments.\nAvailability for after-hours on-call support and occasional travel.\nYou Will Excite Us If You Have:\nBased in or able to commute to the San Diego area.\nSelf-motivated with strong ownership and attention to detail.\nComfortable working in secure, compliance-driven environments.\nFocused on continuous improvement, reliability, and network security.\nOur salary ranges consider a wide variety of factors, including but not limited to benchmarking by independent third-party consultants, skill sets, years of experience, training, education, geography, and other business needs. Depending on experience, the range can be higher for candidates with exceptional experience and a demonstrated history of successful performance.
