In addition to overseeing the delivery of accounting and tax services to our clients, this person will lead the Accounting Department, oversee the financial reporting of Vistra Corporate Services Slovakia and work closely with Vistra’s regional and global teams.\nThe successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Accounting Department in Slovakia, supporting the company’s business development activities, collaborating with the Group Finance team and providing nominee director services to selected strategic clients.\nVistra’s business in Slovakia operates in a dynamic market with significant potential for further growth. Our Accounting team is currently a small group of professionals, creating a unique opportunity to play an active role in building the team, shaping processes, expanding our services and influencing the future direction of the business in the local market.\nThis position offers an exceptional opportunity for professional growth, membership of the local leadership team and the potential to progress towards the role of Managing Director Slovakia in the future.\nAbout the role\nThis role is designed for a senior professional seeking a broader scope of responsibility, a high degree of autonomy and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on both the team and the continued development of the business in Slovakia.\nYou will be responsible for the professional oversight of the accounting and tax services delivered to our clients, the management of the local team, and the internal accounting and financial reporting of Vistra Slovakia.\nKey responsibilities\nlead the Accounting Department and provide professional oversight of the accounting services delivered to the company’s clients\nmanage clients’ full-scope accounting in compliance with Slovak legislation\nprepare, compile and review statutory financial statements and corporate income tax returns\ntake responsibility for VAT, Intrastat and statistical reporting\nmanage motor vehicle tax compliance\ncommunicate with the Slovak Financial Administration, public authorities and regulatory institutions\nprepare client and internal financial reporting\nconvert accounting outputs from IFRS and US GAAP to Slovak GAAP and prepare statutory financial statements\ncoordinate audits and communicate with auditors, tax advisers and external partners\nmonitor legislative developments and implement relevant changes in practice\ncoordinate registrations with tax and regulatory authorities\ntake responsibility for the internal accounting and reporting of Vistra Slovakia in accordance with Group standards\nwork closely with teams in the Czech Republic and across Vistra’s international network\ncommunicate daily with international clients in English\nsupport business development activities and the growth of client relationships\nprovide nominee director services to selected clients\nrepresent clients in business and administrative matters, including communication with third parties\nAbout you\nuniversity degree in economics, accounting, finance or a related field\nat least six years of relevant accounting experience\nexperience managing comprehensive accounting and tax matters\nvery good knowledge of Slovak accounting regulations, VAT and corporate income tax\nexperience preparing financial statements and financial reporting\nability to manage priorities independently and make sound decisions\nanalytical mindset, attention to detail and a proactive approach\nexcellent communication and organisational skills\nadvanced written and spoken English for daily professional communication\nadvanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Excel\nexperience with accounting systems; knowledge of Helios or Pohoda would be an advantage\nThe following would be an advantage\nteam leadership experience\nknowledge of IFRS or US GAAP\nexperience in an international, professional services or outsourcing environment\nsuccessful completion of the Slovak tax adviser examinations; membership of the Slovak Chamber of Tax Advisers would be an advantage\na professional accounting qualification, such as Certified Balance Sheet Accountant, Chief Accountant or a comparable qualification in accounting and finance\nan international professional qualification such as ACCA, FCCA or equivalent\nWhat we offer\na strategic management position in a stable international company\na high degree of autonomy, trust and decision-making authority\nthe opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the operation and continued development of the Slovak business\na clear career perspective and opportunities for professional growth\nflexible working hours\na hybrid working model with the possibility of working from home up to three days per week\nfive weeks of annual leave and sick days\nMultiSport card\nmeal allowance\ntransport allowance\nlanguage courses and professional development opportunities\nmodern, easily accessible offices on Tomášikova Street in Bratislava\na friendly, professional and international working environment\nPosition details\nLocation: Bratislava\nEmployment type: Full-time\nContract: Indefinite term\nStart date: By agreement\nSalary: EUR 3,600 - 4,000 per month, depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications\nWhy consider this opportunity?\nThis position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who wants to take their career beyond traditional accounting and become part of the leadership team of an international company.
