This position is in a bargaining unit represented by the Utility Workers of America/AFL-CIO and Local 310 BUW Council UWUA, AFL-CIO.The hourly rate for this positions is $48.62\nJob Description\nMaintain and repair all plant I & E equipment from routine maintenance to complex I & E troubleshooting at a combined cycle power plant. Major Pieces of Equipment to include, but not limited to:Combustion Turbines\nSteam Turbines\nHeat Recovery Steam Generators\n50 MW and 120 MW Generators\nSurface Condensers\nCirculating Water Equipment\nStation And Instrument Air Systems\nDistributed Controls Systems\n\nAuxiliary components to include, but not limited to:Demineralizer Equipment\nAmmonia Injection Equipment\nClosed Cooling Water System Equipment\nFuel Oil/Gas Equipment\nAir Removal Equipment\nHydrogen Seal Oil Equipment\nFeedwater/Condensate Equipment\nSteam Dump Equipment\nTurbine Bypass Equipment\nWaste Water Treatment Equipment\nSCR Equipment\nCEMs (Continuous Emission Monitoring Equipment)\nTurbine Supervisory Instrumentation\nPlant Electrical Systems\nProgrammable Logic Controllers\n\nAssist and advise Management and Plant Operators on all instrumentation and electrical equipment and systems.\nPerform scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance activities, to include, but not limited to:Readings\nInspections and Checks\nLubrication\nEquipment Cleanings\nFilter Changes\n\nAnalyze equipment performance by processing test data, using schematic drawings, diagrams and reviewing equipment manuals. Recommend and/or take necessary corrective action.\nMaintain, repair, and troubleshoot all control systems at station. Which include, but are not limited to:Honeywell Experion\nSiemens T3000\nHoneywell TDC3000\nAllen Bradley\n\nUse hand tools, power tools, test and calibration equipment to perform maintenance activities.\nPerform rigging, staging, overhead crane and forklift truck operation\nUtilize the maintenance management system (Maximo, et. al.) by:\nPerforming \"work orders\" as assigned\nComplete maintenance data sheets for entry into equipment history data base\nProvide input for the development and improvement of maintenance procedures\n\nObserve work of third party contractors (e.g., outside vendors, Rhode Island Energy, etc.) when needed.\nMaintain and update shop records including prints, drawings, and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) manuals. Use computer to retrieve job-related data.\nHandle and/or dispose of hazardous materials and waste products to include cleaning of spills.\nParticipate in on-the-job training, initially as a trainee in the progression program, then as an OJT trainer for other personnel.\nMaintain, clean, and properly store shop equipment and tools.\nComply with all company safety and compliance (environmental and NERC) regulations, including safe work practices as described in the company Safety Policies, Station Safety Procedures, and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).\nPerform work assignments within other departments at times of peak loads, major operating problems, emergency situations.\nConduct lock out tag out (LOTO) activities within system and plant rules and regulations.\nundefined\nPerform Work Authorization Paperwork as directed by Management and Company Procedures.\nundefined\nParticipate and Contributes to Plant Safety Meetings and Programs. The company values work/life balance, however, a requirement of this job that emergent overtime will be worked occasionally, and planned overtime will be worked during high peak times.\nEducation and Experience - An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.\nHigh School Diploma (or equivalent)\n\nTwo years of trade or technical school with training in the fundamentals of The Power Plant Cycle preferred.\n\nSix years experience in maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of instrument and electrical (I&E) systems, and equipment in a power plant or similar industrial setting.\n\nDemonstrated ability in reading process & instrumentation diagrams, electrical one-line diagrams and logic diagrams, and use of test equipment through a practical exam\n\nComplete accredited courses in (or possess a certificate of equivalent training earning CEUs):\n\nBasic College Math/Algebra\n\nBasic Electricity\n\nBasic Electronics\n\nComplete the Hiring Process (including background check and drug screening).\n\nComplete the Progression Program within required intervals.\n\nObtain RI Crane Operators license.\n\nExperience with High Voltage Test Equipment.\n\nObtain a RI Journeyman Electrician license within 5 years.\n\nObtain ISA Level I Certified Control System Specialist certification within 5 years.\n\nValid driver’s license.\n\nAll applicants must be a successful candidate on the Plant Operator Selection System/Power Plant Operations and Maintenance (POSS / MASS) program in order to be considered a candidate for this position.
