Responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of a Natural Gas Power Plant and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).Job Description\n\nJob Description\nResponsibilities:\nPerform work incorporating strict adherence to Safety procedures and best practices and continually observe for safe working practices.\nRegularly develops and presents safety topics.\nDevelop an understanding of HPI tools through training opportunities and practice. Actively participate in Pre/Post Job briefs.\nWork with other technicians to perform routine and emergency maintenance and/or compliance activities on the plant instrumentation and control systems including weekends, holidays, and scheduled shifts.\n Develop the technical expertise and skills to provide, with occasional assistance, the ability to effectively troubleshoot and maintain the Plant control systems and communication networks (DCS, BESS controls, & PLCs).\nCover Unit start-up and shut-down activities with assistance from other Technicians.\nCover Control Operator shifts as necessary\nCalibrate, troubleshoot and maintain power plant instrumentation systems and equipment.\nLearn to enter WRs and SRs into Maximo.\nAssist in the design and implementation of O&M and Capital projects.\nLearn to communicate LOTO requests to Operations.\nMaintain a good working relationship with Team members and other support groups and vendors.\nSuccessfully delivers results by thorough and detailed completion of job responsibilities\nTakes pride in thorough and detailed completion of a job.\nCommunicate to the Supervisor ANY unusual and out -of- the-ordinary equipment condition or issues which may hinder normal operation or may cause budget impacting cost.\nAble to cover call-out duties with minimal assistance.\nPerform all other duties as assigned with initiative.\n\nRequirements:\n High School diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent\n2+ years of I&C or electrical experience required\nProvide the technical expertise and skills to effectively troubleshoot electrical circuits.\n Provide technical expertise and skills to perform calibrations and maintenance of field instrumentation including transmitters (level, pressure, flow, temperature, etc.), control valves, valve positioners, thermocouples, etc.\n Develop knowledge and understanding of the power plant processes (material handling, water side equipment, air side equipment, emission controls, turbine/generator, etc.).\nDemonstrates specific knowledge and skills to perform job assignments.\nDemonstrates continual self-improvement in job skills and knowledge.\nDemonstrates knowledge of how job assignment impacts other systems/units and uses this knowledge to maximize safety and minimize equipment problems.\nDemonstrates knowledge and utilization of resources required to perform job, such as drawings, instruction books, calibration data sheets, MAXIMO, etc.\nProficient computer skills.\n All applicants must be a successful candidate on the Plant Operator Selection System/Power Plant Operations and Maintenance (POSS / MASS) program in order to be considered a candidate for this position.
