The Engineer will be responsible for providing civil and structural engineering support for the Vistra generation fleet. The Engineer will be responsible for establishing and maintaining fleet standards for inspections of critical equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. This position can work independently, applying extensive SME knowledge and must coordinate effectively with all work groups.* Flexibility for base location at one of Vistra's fossil power generation sites.\nJob Description\nCoordinates and maintains fossil/renewables fleet structural inspection programs, including:Structural Integrity Program, Chimney Inspection Program, and Fuel Oil Storage Tanks Program.\nIncorporates personnel and public safety as a priority in the plans and designs.\nPrepares and presents reports, sketches, and designs, including recommendations to resolve complex issues.\nFacilitates effective contractor management with engineering firms.\nEnsures all project designs are in accordance with sound engineering practice.\nPrepares and designs civil/structural standards (including new construction) & operating procedures.\nProvides cost and schedule estimates for inspections and implementation of designed repairs.\nPerforms assignments in a thorough and reliable manner.\nAbility to effectively manage significant number of projects simultaneously.\nWorks with minimal supervision.\nShows adaptability to coordinate materials, personnel, and schedules.\nAbility to communicate technical subjects and complex ideas to a diverse audience.\nClearly explains options, costs, benefits, risks.\nAbility to persuade and negotiate solutions.\nEducation, Experience & Skill Requirements\nBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
