The role provides oversight and direction to contract resources involved in licensing activities, prepare/support development of licensing submittals and prepare/support regulatory evaluations. The licensing engineer will also support and coordinate with engineering and other project personnel throughout all project phases, including review of engineering products.This integral role supports safe, compliant, and efficient execution of all major project licensing project phases, from scoping and application development through NRC approval and site implementation, while maintaining alignment with Vistra’s nuclear standards.\nJob Description\nKey Accountabilities\nSupport all phases of major project licensing activities including development, review, approval and submittal of license amendments and other regulatory correspondence.\nSupport regulatory acceptance, review and approval of license amendments and other regulatory submittals.\nEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements for plant changes necessary for project implementation \nSupport environmental reviews associated with major licensing actions\nSupport Vistra and contract engineering personnel to ensure quality and completeness of engineering deliverables necessary for licensing actions\nOversee contract EPCs responsible for development of licensing-related deliverables\nCoordinate licensing activities with EPCs, OEMs, and project and site engineering.\nTravel as needed to industry meetings, Vistra sites, vendor facilities and NRC as required \nEducation, Experience, & Skill Requirements\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited program required\nMinimum of 10 years of nuclear industry experience required, including design engineering and nuclear licensing experience\nPrior experience involving major regulatory licensing actions strongly preferred, including regulator interactions\nFull Qualifications in design engineering processes strongly preferred, including experience with development and approval of engineering deliverables\nFull Certifications for 10 CFR 50.59 and 10 CFR 72.48 evaluations required \nStrong knowledge of NRC regulations, nuclear plant systems, and environmental reviews\nPrior Experience with industry codes and standards, we well as regulatory guidance documents, required\nKey Metrics\nZero violations of nuclear or safety processes during execution.\nOn-time delivery of licensing milestones \nCompliance with NRC, industry, and fleet standards\nMinimal corrective actions from regulatory or third-party reviews\nJob Family\nPlant OperationsCompany\nVistra Nuclear Operations CompanyLocations\nOak Harbor, OhioOhioWe are a company of people committed to: Exceeding Customer Expectations, Great People, Teamwork, Competitive Spirit and Effective Communication.
