Responsible for promoting safe, effective, and reliable operation.\nJob Description\nKey Accountabilities:\nProficient in primary skill required of position\nProficient skills for maintaining equipment at the plant\nPerforms troubleshooting and documentation, and assists in the resolution of problems discovered on shift\nPerforms daily maintenance, overhauls, calibration, troubleshooting, repair/replacement and removal/installation of plant equipment and systems.\nMakes decisions and recommends appropriate repair techniques for plant equipment to peers, supervisors, plant management.\nConducts excitation system inspections and preventive maintenance\nProficient in operating material handling equipment\nDevelops and implements plant operating procedures\nUnderstands relationship of equipment to plant systems\nMay provide instruction and teaching to lower level employees\nEnsures strict adherence to safety, health and environmental procedures as they relate to plant operations and maintenance including but not limited to Lockout Tagout, Job Safety Analysis, Confined Space, Hot Work, Electrical Safety and PPE\nEducation, Experience, and Skill Requirements:\n4 -6 years related experience\nSatisfactory completion of Tier 2 within primary skill for position job performance measure\nMinimum of High School diploma or GED\nIf applicable, candidate will hold the required level of state license as recognized by the governing body of that particular state (MA, OH)\nDemonstrate computer based skills\nDemonstrate effective oral & verbal communications skills\nIndependent knowledge of troubleshooting\nAll applicants must be a successful candidate on the Plant Operator Selection System/Power Plant Operations and Maintenance (POSS / MASS) program in order to be considered a candidate for this position.
