The purpose of this role is to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with customers and ensure they adhere to our credit terms. We are supporting Hospitals, Universities, New Build developments, Towns and Cities as well as Industrial and Commercial clients to decarbonise their buildings.\nWe have and continue to work on ground-breaking projects throughout the UK which are supporting the UK’s Net Zero targets, such as the recently announced £1 billion low-carbon infrastructure project for Westminster.\nWith plans to double our headcount over the coming years, supported by offices opening in new locations across the country and our strong investment pipeline, coupled with our expansion into new markets such as industrial power generation with our very own Energy-from-Waste facility, there is no better time to join the team here at Vital Energi.\nWhat You Will Be Doing\nCredit Control - working with the commercial department to chase debts on a regular basis and providing feedback on potential collection issues\nLiaise with internal departments and customers to resolve invoice discrepancies and queries\nIssuing of monthly aged applications reports which includes detailed analysis of under certified values, along with aged debt reports.\nLiaising with Commercial department for updates required on Aged Applications and Aged Debt reports\nLiaising with the commercial department and external clients to determine the correct VAT status is used.\nEnsuring compliance with Domestic VAT reverse charge, gaining end user status for each client and using the correct VAT status.\nSetting up new accounts and maintaining existing account details within Navision\nAssist in credit checking customers\nBank reconciliations on a daily basis\nProcessing contract sales ledger applications, certificates and invoices in line with CIS and Vat regulations stipulated by HMRC\nProcessing sales ledger invoices\nProduction and posting of journals duly authorised by the Credit Control Team Leader.\nAd-hoc tasks as required\nWho We Are Looking For\nKnowledge:\nAt least 5 years accounts experience within a busy Finance function\nExperience of working within the construction industry and a working knowledge of CIS rules and regulations would be a distinct advantage.\nComputer literate - with experience of spreadsheet and word processing being essential\nExperience of using Microsoft Dynamics and Jet Reports would be a distinct advantage.\nNumerate\nPersonal Qualities\nAn aptitude for working as part of a team\nGood time management, planning and organisational skills with the ability to multi-task\nSelf-motivated, pro-active problem-solving approach and driven to achieve results\nThe ability to communicate professionally and effectively with customers, suppliers and colleagues\nA high level of confidentiality, tact and diplomacy\nAttention to detail and the ability to reconcile receipts and resolve queries is essential\nAbility to work under pressure, and within strict deadlines\nAccurate and efficient inputting of data\nGood IT Skills, including Microsoft Office.\nConfident manner, with ability to work to tight deadlines, whilst remaining focussed\nA Full UK driving licence\nThe Package\nAttractive salary.\nCompany car or car allowance.\nPension scheme.\nEmployee Assistance Programme (EAP).\n25 days' annual leave plus 8 bank holidays, increasing with length of service.\nCycle to Work scheme and additional employee benefits.\nAdditional Information\nApplications will be processed within 28 days of receipt.
