Revenues in 2023 were $400bn.\nFor more information: vitol.com\n The Software Engineer will contribute to the maintenance, improvement and support of internal applications, tools and deployment processes used across Vitol’s trading technology landscape.\nThis role is focused on improving application deployment, developer tooling, automation and operational reliability. The successful candidate will work closely with software engineers, architects and support teams to ensure robust delivery processes, high-quality releases and efficient development workflows.\nThe position offers exposure to a broad range of technologies and business-critical applications in a global trading environment.\nMaintain and improve internal application installation and deployment tools used across trading technology platforms.\n\nSupport and enhance reporting components, including spreadsheet-based and service-based reporting tools.\n\nMaintain and improve internal communication and messaging tools used by business applications.\n\nSupport batch-processing components and background services used by core trading systems.\n\nContribute to the reliability and performance of tools supporting reporting, data exchange, processing workflows and application integration.\n\nMaintain, improve and support deployment processes for commercial and internally developed applications.\n\nMaintain and improve developer tools and development environments, integrating AI technology.\n\nSupport and enhance CI/CD and software quality tooling, including tools such as Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket and SonarQube.\n\nMaintain and improve developer tools and development environments.\n\nSupport documentation, workflow and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.\n\nParticipate in application installation and release preparation processes.\n\nImprove integration between development tools and automate recurring tasks.\n\nContribute to the development and adoption of unit testing frameworks and quality practices.\n\nIdentify opportunities to improve developer productivity, reduce manual effort and increase release reliability.\n\nWork collaboratively across different teams, domains and technology topics.\n\n 2 to 5 years of experience in a software development, application engineering, DevOps, release management or architecture team.\n\nStrong programming skills in .NET / C#.\n\nFamiliarity with standard software development and deployment tools, such as:\n\n- Jenkins\n- Git or Bitbucket\n- SonarQube\n- Visual Studio Code\nKnowledge of PL/SQL and database development tools would be an advantage.\n\nExperience with application deployment, automation, CI/CD pipelines or developer tooling is beneficial.\n\nUnderstanding of batch processing, reporting tools, APIs or background services would be a plus.\n\nStrong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic approach to delivery.\n\nExperience with, or strong interest in, AI-enabled development tools and their practical application to software delivery, automation, testing and documentation.\n\nInterest in automation and continuous improvement.\n\nAbility to work on several topics in parallel across different teams and domains.\n\nCollaborative mindset and willingness to support and enable other developers.\n\nGood communication skills in
