Our core business is to work on the ground to build bridges into space, contributing to the success of ambitious missions.\nThe European Space Agency is our biggest client and we provide highly qualified employees to many sites of ESA but mainly for ESTEC in the Netherlands, and we provide a permanent contract with great benefits, a good salary, a relocation package along with genuine support to our employees.\nTelespazio BeNeLux has an on-site service at ESTEC in the Netherlands, and we are looking for a highly skilled AOCS Systems and Pointing SupportEngineer to work there.\nCandidates must be eligible for a security personal clearance from an EU Member State national security administration\nWhat is expected from you:\nSupport definition of AOCS requirements and contribute to the elaboration of System/Mission Requirements related to AOCS domain.\nSupport analyses and trade-offs for AOCS systems, software, and hardware units.\nSupport execution of AOCS and Pointing performance analyses and performance budgeting\nSupport monitoring the industrial activities concerning design and development of AOCS systems, software, and hardware units for ESA projects.\nSupport the Review of the project documentation as produced throughout the projectlifetime in the area of AOCS and Pointing engineering, as well as interface documented information from System and spacecraft subsystems\nDevelop and maintain the engineering support tools needed for the above AOCS and Pointing tasks and activities\nSupport the procurement of AOCS hardware units for AOCS subsystem (trade-off, requirements definition, participation to hardware reviews, key points,..)\nSupport the verification and validation process of AOCS systems throughout all project phases\nSupport provision of expertise in the AOCS and Pointing disciplines to the AIT and AIV processes and to in-flight activities (e.g. LEOP, commissioning, in-flight anomaly investigations)\nContribute to definition, analysis, and verification of AOCS-level and system-level Fault Detection Isolation and Recovery (FDIR)\nSupport provision of AOCS and Pointing expertise in feasibility studies and project reviews\nAOCS and Pointing engineering in R&D programmes and activities\nSupport definition of AOCS and Pointing technology development needs and work plans for ESA's technology programmes\nSupport the ESA staff in defining, initiating and managing AOCS and Pointing R&D activities covering both long- and short-term needs;\nSupport in R&D activity reviews and meetings and reporting on the R&D activity development, progress and planning\nSupport the dissemination of the results of the AOCS and Pointing activities performed and the transfer of knowledge across the Agency;\nIntroducing any lesson learnt, important information and results from R&D developments, Project support and hands-on activities in relation to AOCS and Pointing\nProvide support during execution of R&D activities for mission enabling AOCS system concepts, AOCS simulation modelling, AOCS systems model-based engineering, machine learning application to AOCS systems, and advanced guidance, control, navigation/estimation, and optimization techniques.\nSupport engineering to the AOCS and Pointing Systems facilities\nSupport laboratory activities to evaluate and prototype new AOCS systems, functions/algorithms and sensors.\nAssist ongoing projects with the design implementation, prototyping, testing, evaluation, benchmarking, debugging, and validation on the corresponding facility\nPerform integration, functional and performance testing of relevant hardware and software elements in the facility\nSupport recording, analysis and documentation of test and validation activities and test results, including equipment setup and configuration, and failure incidents\nSupport the management of the planning of the facility accounting for priorities given by the WP Technical Responsible Service provider personnel shall comply with the ESA Quality Management System\nSupport definition and development of in-flight experiments to de-risk AOCS systems or their elements.\nWhat you offer:\nMaster’s degree in control engineering and/or aerospace engineering and/or electrical engineering. \nMinimum 4 years of relevant experience in the field.\nWhat we offer:\nA competitive salary\n30 days of paid annual leave, plus the days ESTEC is closed including public holidays (~12 days) based on a 40-hour working week;\nHybrid working scheme (3 days in the office and 2 days remote in the Netherlands)\nOpportunity to telework from abroad\nFlexible working hours;
