Together we help our customers and their patients to fulfill the dream of having a baby.\nLocation: Torrance, California\nSalary Range: $30 - $$32 / hr\nPosition Summary\nWe are currently seeking a Laboratory Technologist to join our Torrance-based team. This individual will play a key role in molecular testing workflows that support our mission in reproductive health and genetic diagnostics. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly skilled in molecular biology techniques, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and compliance in a fast-paced laboratory environment.\nKey Responsibilities:\nResponsible for specimen processing, test performance, and for reviewing and reporting test results, if applicable.\n\nPerforms high complexity tests that are authorized by the General Supervisor or Laboratory Director.\n\nAdhere to laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reviewing and maintaining records of patient test results.\n\nFollow all safety and quality control protocols.\n\nBe capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and immediately notify the General Supervisor or Laboratory Director.\n\nDocument all non-conformities and corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications.\n\nRegister samples in the designated system, witness the procedure, and ensure proper documentation is in place.\n\nWork flexible hours including overtime, weekends, and overnight shifts as dictated by operational needs.\n\nCollaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure workflow efficiency and continuity.\n\nMaintain a high level of organization and accountability to support safe, accurate, and timely laboratory testing.\n\nPerform additional duties as assigned in support of laboratory operations.\n\nExperience and Qualifications:\nBachelor’s, or higher, degree in a laboratory science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution; OR a bachelor’s, or higher, degree in one of the chemical, or biological sciences from an accredited institution, and, in addition, at least 6 months of acceptable supervised experience and/or relevant training.\n\nRelevant molecular skill set consisting of the molecular fundamentals, RNA and DNA extraction, PCR, and gel electrophoresis will be plus.\n\nExperience with real time PCR, microarray or sequencing preferred.\n\nKey knowledge, skills and abilities:\nHighly organized and strong work ethic.\n\nUnderstanding of the equipment used daily, including, but not limited to centrifuges, thermal cyclers, and real-time PCR analyzers.\n\nUnderstanding of CLIA requirements and experience with CAP inspections for compliance with Checklist requirements.\n\nDemonstrate clear ability to explain experience with specific instrument platforms, including test principle(s), what controls were in place, and how results are interpreted and reported out.\n\nAbility to multi-task and work in a fast-past, deadline-driven environment.\n\nCommunication - Proficient verbal and written communication skills, including ability to write clear reports and detailed laboratory procedures with correct grammar and spelling.
