You will oversee programs that ensure employees operate safely, professionally, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements while helping drive operational excellence throughout the organization.\nThis highly visible leadership position partners with Transportation Operations, Human Resources, and Executive Leadership to strengthen safety performance, employee development, risk management, and continuous improvement.\nWhat You'll Do\nLead Safety, Training & Quality Excellence\nLead and develop Vivalon's safety, training, and quality assurance programs across transportation operations.\nSupervise and support Road Supervisors and training staff while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.\nDesign and oversee new hire, compliance, and ongoing training programs to ensure employees have the skills and certifications needed for success.\nDrive safety initiatives by leading accident investigations, conducting operational reviews, and implementing proactive risk-reduction strategies.\nEnsure compliance with DOT, OSHA, contractual, and organizational requirements, maintaining audit-ready records and documentation.\nMonitor performance metrics, identify trends, and implement data-driven improvements that enhance safety, service quality, and operational excellence.\nPartner with department leaders and executive leadership to advance organization-wide safety goals and continuous improvement efforts.\nRequirements\nWhat We're Looking For\nWe're looking for a collaborative leader who combines strong regulatory knowledge with a passion for developing people and building a culture of safety.\nMinimum of 3-5 years of safety and training experience, preferably within transportation, transit, paratransit, or related industries\nStrong knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and transportation safety regulations\nExperience leading investigations, training programs, audits, and compliance initiatives\nExcellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills\nAbility to influence and build partnerships across all levels of an organization\nProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)\nFamiliarity with DOT drug and alcohol testing programs and Reasonable Suspicion training\nAssociate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred\nAbility to obtain and maintain a California Commercial Driver License (Class B or higher) with Passenger Endorsement\nClean driving record and insurability\nExperience in a nonprofit or mission-driven environment is a plus\nBenefits & Perks\nAt Vivalon, we invest in the health, well-being, and success of our employees.
