The role is responsible for bringing building management systems into service, making sure they are installed, configured, tested and handed over in line with the design and the client’s requirements.\nYou will work on site alongside project managers, site teams, electrical and mechanical contractors and controls engineers. Your work will include checking installations, loading and testing control software, verifying the operation of connected plant and equipment, and resolving faults as they arise. You will also complete commissioning records and support the handover process.\nThe role suits a commissioning engineer who can work independently on live sites and keep to programme. A methodical approach, sound technical knowledge of building controls and clear communication with other trades will be important, as will a firm commitment to safe working.\nMain responsibilities\nCommission building management systems, including controllers, field devices, sensors, actuators and supervisory software\nCheck installations against drawings, specifications and control schematics before commissioning starts\nLoad, configure and test control software and strategies, and verify them against the design\nTest and verify the operation of connected HVAC, electrical and other building services plant\nDiagnose and resolve faults in controls, wiring, communications and software\nWork with electrical, mechanical and controls contractors to coordinate commissioning activities\nComplete commissioning documentation, test records and as-built information\nWitness testing with the client or their representatives and support snagging and defect close-out\nSupport training and handover to the client’s operational teams\nFollow site health and safety procedures and promote safe working practices\nReport progress and issues to the project team\nRequirements\nEssential\nProven experience commissioning BMS or building automation systems on construction or building services projects\nWorking knowledge of BMS architecture, controllers, field devices and communication protocols such as BACnet or Modbus\nAbility to read and interpret control schematics, wiring diagrams and specifications\nExperience of fault finding and testing controls and connected plant\nAbility to work independently on site and to programme\nGood communication skills, with the ability to coordinate with other trades\nFluent English, written and spoken\nDesirable\nA relevant technical qualification in electrical, automation or building services engineering, or equivalent practical experience\nExperience with major BMS platforms\nExperience of commissioning projects in Finland or the wider Nordic region\nWorking knowledge of Finnish\nThe offer\nContract positions based in Finland\nSpecific location, rate, start date, duration and working pattern to be confirmed with candidates\nThe chance to work on live projects and make an immediate contribution to commissioning and handover\nIf you are an experienced BMS Commissioning Engineer looking for a contract role in Finland, this position offers hands-on controls work on live projects.
