Months\nAbout the Client\nOur client is delivering a major hyperscale data centre project in Frankfurt, Germany and is looking for an experienced Design Engineer to support the delivery of mechanical building services design across the project lifecycle.\nThis is an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile data centre development and play a key role in coordinating, developing and delivering critical infrastructure designs within a fast-paced engineering environment.\nRole Overview\nWe are seeking a proactive and self-driven Design Engineer with a strong mechanical background, ideally within HVAC systems, and exposure to electrical services or high-tech skid-based solutions.\nThe successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the design, coordination and technical delivery of mechanical systems, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure designs meet project requirements, programme milestones and client expectations.\nThis role would suit someone who can hit the ground running, take ownership of their workload, work independently when required and contribute effectively within a collaborative project team.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop and coordinate mechanical building services designs, primarily focused on HVAC systems\nProduce and review design documentation, calculations, technical specifications and drawings\nUtilise Revit to develop and coordinate 3D models throughout the project lifecycle\nCoordinate with electrical, architectural and process engineering teams\nSupport the design and integration of high-tech equipment and skid-based solutions\nAttend design review meetings and provide technical support to stakeholders\nEnsure designs comply with project standards, industry regulations and client requirements\nIdentify design clashes and coordinate resolutions with relevant disciplines\nProvide technical input during construction and commissioning phases when required\nOccasionally visit site to support design implementation and resolve technical issues\nWork collaboratively with project teams while maintaining responsibility for individual deliverables\nSupport continuous improvement and efficient project execution throughout the design process\nCandidate Requirements\n5-8 years’ experience within Mechanical Design Engineering roles\nStrong HVAC design experience on large-scale industrial or mission-critical projects\nExperience within Data Centres is highly preferred\nCandidates with Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology or Semiconductor project experience will also be considered\nExposure to electrical systems and high-tech skid packages would be advantageous\nProficient with Revit and BIM coordination processes\nStrong understanding of mechanical building services design principles\nAbility to work independently and take ownership of assigned deliverables\nSelf-motivated with a proactive and solution-oriented approach\nStrong communication and stakeholder management skills\nEnglish speaking is essential\nGerman language skills would be advantageous\nPositive attitude with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment\nContract
