established and growing independent planning, design and environmental consultancy in Birmingham.\nThe business works across a diverse range of projects throughout the UK, with a strong focus on strategic land, residential development, new communities, regeneration, commercial development and mixed-use schemes.\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Planner looking to take the next step in their career, with the chance to work on interesting projects, take ownership of client relationships and progress towards Associate level and beyond.\nThe Role\nAs a Senior Town Planner, you will be involved in managing a varied portfolio of planning projects and providing commercially focused planning advice to clients.\nYour responsibilities will include:\nManaging planning applications from inception through to determination.\nProviding planning advice to private-sector clients and landowners.\nWorking on strategic land, residential and mixed-use development projects.\nPreparing planning appraisals, reports and supporting documentation.\nDeveloping planning strategies for complex development proposals.\nLiaising with local planning authorities, stakeholders and statutory consultees.\nCoordinating multidisciplinary project teams.\nAttending client meetings and taking responsibility for key client relationships.\nSupporting and mentoring more junior members of the team.\nContributing to business development and identifying new opportunities.\nThe Projects\nYou will have the opportunity to work across a varied portfolio, including:\nStrategic land promotion\nResidential development\nNew settlements and urban extensions\nRegeneration\nMixed-use development\nCommercial development\nMasterplanning and placemaking\nPlanning applications and appeals\nDevelopment management and planning strategy\nAbout You\nThe successful candidate will ideally have:\nPrevious experience within a planning consultancy or private-sector environment.\nA relevant degree in Town Planning or a related discipline.\nMRTPI or be working towards chartership.\nStrong knowledge of the UK planning system.\nExperience managing planning projects and dealing directly with clients.\nExcellent communication and report-writing skills.\nThe ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.\nA commercially minded approach.\nThe confidence to work
