Our work culture fosters collaboration, creativity, and continuous learning.\nJob Summary:\nWe are seeking a Junior Software Developer to support the U.S. Coast Guard Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber and Intelligence Service Center (C5ISC) under the COMPASS program. This role will support the development and sustainment of C5I-Home and VDS eStorefront, two Angular and Node.js web applications used to support Coast Guard operations and vessel documentation services.\nThe successful candidate will work as part of an Agile sprint team to develop enhancements, resolve defects, perform unit testing, participate in code reviews, and support releases across development, test, staging, and production environments. This is a hands-on software development role focused on consistent sprint execution, secure coding, application sustainment, and effective collaboration with senior engineers, QA teams, and Government stakeholders.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDevelop, test, and maintain Angular front-end components and Node.js services for C5I-Home and VDS eStorefront.\n\nImplement sprint-committed user stories, enhancements, defects, and maintenance tickets in accordance with defined acceptance criteria.\n\nSupport PostgreSQL data integrations and application interfaces with services such as Login.gov and Pay.gov.\n\nWrite clean, secure, maintainable, and documented code in accordance with program standards and OWASP secure coding guidance.\n\nIdentify and remediate application vulnerabilities identified through CI/CD and security scanning processes.\n\nWrite and maintain automated unit tests and support QA testing in development, test, and staging environments.\n\nAssist senior engineers with troubleshooting production incidents, application defects, and performance issues.\n\nSubmit merge requests, participate in peer code reviews, and address review feedback.\n\nSupport deployment and promotion of application builds through development, test, staging, and production environments.\n\nEnsure user-facing application functionality complies with Section 508 accessibility requirements.\n\nParticipate in daily standups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.\n\nMaintain accurate work item status, estimates, implementation notes, and technical documentation.\n\nSupport monthly application maintenance releases and Government demonstrations and user acceptance testing.\n\nUse Government-approved AI-assisted development tools to improve development productivity and code quality.\n\nProvide occasional after-hours support for application releases and production incidents as required.\n\nRequired Qualifications:\n1-3 years of professional experience developing web applications.\n\nExperience with Angular, React, Vue, or a similar modern front-end framework.\n\nProficiency with TypeScript or JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS.\n\nWorking knowledge of Node.js and developing or consuming RESTful APIs.\n\nExperience working with relational databases and writing SQL queries.\n\nExperience using Git-based version control and merge request or pull request-based code review workflows.\n\nExperience writing and maintaining unit tests.\n\nFamiliarity with secure software development and secure coding principles.\n\nExperience working in an Agile or Scrum software development environment.\n\nStrong troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.\n\nMust be U.S. citizen.\n\nAbility to obtain and maintain a favorable DHS/U.S. Coast Guard suitability determination for a Moderate Risk Public Trust position (Tier 2 / SF-85P).\n\nAbility to support core working hours of 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Eastern Time, Monday through Friday.\n\nAbility to provide occasional after-hours support for production releases or incidents.\n\nNo degree required;
