You will work closely with product managers, business stakeholders, architects, data scientists, quality engineers, and experienced software engineers to deliver small, independently demonstrable increments while developing strong engineering skills. This role will leverage AI-assisted development practices, including structured work items, repository guidance, automated implementation, pull requests, testing, and continuous feedback.\nResponsibilities:\nDevelop and maintain applications, services, APIs, and user interfaces under the guidance of experienced engineers.\nTranslate defined requirements and technical designs into clean, maintainable, and testable software.\nContribute to backend services using Java, Spring Boot, or comparable technologies.\nContribute to modern web applications using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, or comparable frontend technologies.\nDevelop and consume REST APIs and support event-driven integrations.\nWork with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and apply basic data-modeling and query-development practices.\nWrite and maintain unit, integration, API, and end-to-end tests.\nParticipate in debugging, code reviews, technical discussions, backlog refinement, demonstrations, and continuous-improvement activities.\nContribute to application security, accessibility, observability, performance, scalability, and operational readiness.\nUse AI-assisted development tools responsibly and validate generated code with guidance from experienced engineers.\nFollow repository guidance, coding standards, testing expectations, technical documentation, and Software Factory development practices.\nAsk questions, seek feedback, share knowledge, and collaborate respectfully while demonstrating ownership, accountability, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience required.\n0 to two years of professional software engineering experience, including internships, co-ops, or relevant project experience required.\nFoundational knowledge of software development principles, object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms required.\nExperience with Java or another object-oriented programming language required.\nFamiliarity with web development concepts and technologies such as React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, or CSS required.\nFamiliarity with REST APIs, relational databases, and source-control systems such as Git required.\nUnderstanding of software testing and the importance of writing maintainable and reliable code required.\nFamiliarity with basic application security and secure-coding practices required.\nAbility to deliver work incrementally through small, independently testable units required.\nAbility to work effectively with product, architecture, data, quality engineering, and business stakeholders required.\nStrong communication, problem-solving, collaboration, attention-to-detail, and customer-focus skills required.\nDemonstrated ownership, accountability, integrity, commitment to inclusion, and willingness to receive feedback and continuously improve required.\nEstimated Hiring Range:\nAt Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances.
