This leader will own the engineering strategy and execution required to build a modern, AI-native, cloud-scalable, data-driven, and highly intuitive analytics ecosystem that reduces client data acquisition burden, improves data quality and trust, and enables healthcare leaders to make better decisions through timely, actionable insights.\nThe AVP will lead engineering execution aligned with the CPSC modernization roadmap, including automated data acquisition and ingestion, scalable data engineering and pipelines, AI-enabled mapping and normalization, ontology-driven data models, advanced benchmarking, guided analytics, and a command-center-style executive experience. This role will establish the technical foundation and engineering practices needed to deliver these capabilities securely and at enterprise scale.\nAs the senior technical leader for the domain, the AVP will be accountable for engineering excellence, architecture, delivery capability, and consistent execution across multiple engineering teams. The role will translate product and enterprise strategy into executable technology roadmaps, lead complex cross-team initiatives, establish modern PDLC/AIDLC and AI-first engineering practices, and drive adoption of cloud-native, data, API, and AI technologies.\nThis leader will also be responsible for building and scaling a high-performing engineering organization, developing Engineering Managers and technical leaders through coaching and performance management, and strengthening engineering capabilities across the domain. The AVP will serve as a key technology partner to Product, Architecture, Data, AI, Security, and business leaders, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, interoperable, compliant, and aligned with Vizient’s broader technology strategy.\nEngineering Manager Development & Leadership\nWeekly 1:1s with Engineering Managers\nEM coaching on technical leadership and people management\nPerformance management and career development for EMs\nRecruiting and developing management talent\nTeam health assessment and organizational design\nStrategic Technical Planning & Coordination\nImplement AI-first development patterns in partnership with enterprise AI platform providers.\nCross-team technical architecture and dependency management (with architecture)\nQuarterly technical roadmap alignment within domain cluster\nTechnical risk assessment and mitigation planning\nStandards and best practices across teams\nComplex technical problem escalation and resolution\nDelivery Oversight & Accountability\nQuarterly delivery review and goal setting\nCross-team coordination for complex initiatives\nResource allocation and priority discussions with EMs\nEscalation point for delivery risks and impediments\nStakeholder communication on delivery status\nOrganizational & Cross-Domain Interface\nVP review meetings and organizational initiatives\nCross-domain collaboration and knowledge sharing\nProcess improvement and scaling decisions\nInterface with business unit stakeholders (alongside product)\nRequirements:\nProven experience leading AI-first or AI-enabled product and platform transformations, including adoption of AI across engineering and product development.\nDeep expertise in cloud-native architecture and engineering across AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform.\nDeep expertise in Data engineering, including design and operation of large-scale, high-performance data pipelines and data platforms.\nDeep expertise in Databricks, including modern lakehouse architectures, data processing, analytics, and enterprise-scale implementations.\nStrong expertise in API-driven architecture and ecosystem design, including scalable integration patterns and platform interoperability.\nExperience delivering technology solutions within regulated industries, preferably healthcare.\nStrong understanding of enterprise data governance, privacy, security, risk, and regulatory compliance.\nDemonstrated ability to build, scale, and lead high-performing engineering organizations, including talent development and organizational transformation.\nExperience implementing and evolving modern Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC), SDLC, DevSecOps, and AI Development Life Cycle (AIDLC) practices.\nExperience establishing AI-enabled engineering practices, including AI-assisted software development, testing, automation, and engineering productivity.\nStrong understanding of modern distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architectures, and scalable platform engineering principles.\nProven ability to operate effectively across hybrid, geographically distributed, and cross-functional teams, partnering closely with Product, Architecture, Data, Security, and business stakeholders.\nEstimated Hiring Range:\nAt Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances.
