In addition, there will be an in-person interview required.\nJob Description\nSummary:\nIn this role, you will lead an engineering team responsible for designing, developing, and delivering scalable, high-quality software solutions, including the Spend Manager Intelligence Platform that enables actionable insights and data-driven decision-making. You will balance hands-on technical leadership with team leadership, ensuring strong engineering practices while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment. You will partner closely with Product, Architecture, and Delivery teams to align technical execution with business goals, support team development through coaching and mentorship, and drive continuous improvement across engineering practices. Additionally, you will champion the adoption of emerging technologies, including AI-driven tools, and guide the development of scalable data platforms, pipelines, and analytics capabilities using technologies such as Databricks and Spark.\nResponsibilities:\nLead the design, architecture, and development of scalable, high-performance software solutions\nGuide the team through complex technical challenges and ensure sound engineering decisions\nContribute to the codebase, delivering efficient, maintainable, and secure code\nEnsure adherence to engineering best practices including code reviews, testing, CI/CD, and application security\nPartner with Product Owners and stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure successful delivery\nBreak down complex initiatives into actionable work and prioritize effectively\nIdentify and communicate risks, providing mitigation strategies to support delivery timelines\nFoster a healthy, collaborative team environment that supports engagement and productivity\nProvide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and feedback to support individual and team development\nAddress team dynamics and resolve conflicts with empathy and professionalism\nPromote accountability, continuous improvement, and a strong feedback culture\nLead team retrospectives and drive process enhancements\nAdvocate for and support the adoption of AI and automation tools to improve engineering efficiency\nIdentify opportunities to enhance workflows through emerging technologies\nEncourage experimentation and innovation within the team\nCommunicate project status, progress, and risks to Product Owners, Delivery Leads, and stakeholders\nCollaborate cross-functionally with Architecture, Engineering, CloudOps, and Security teams to ensure alignment\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience\n7 or more years of software development experience required\n2 or more years of experience leading or mentoring engineering teams required\nStrong experience with modern software development practices including CI/CD, testing, and application security required\nProficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript required\nExperience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP required\nExperience designing scalable systems, including microservices and distributed architectures required\nStrong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills required\nExperience working in Agile environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams required\nProven ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders required\nDemonstrated ability to mentor and develop engineers, fostering both technical and professional growth preferred\nPassion for innovation, continuous improvement, and emerging technologies preferred\nExperience with data engineering technologies such as Apache Spark, Databricks, and distributed data processing frameworks required\nHands-on experience with building and maintaining data pipelines and large-scale data platforms required\nFamiliarity with data modeling, data warehousing, and lakehouse architectures preferred\nExperience with streaming technologies and real-time data processing\nExposure to AI/ML workflows or data-driven applications preferred\nEstimated Hiring Range:\nAt Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances.
