You will be responsible for cloud operations, infrastructure automation, observability, reliability engineering, and operational excellence. This role combines software engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and cloud platform support responsibilities to help engineering teams deliver and operate high-quality solutions in Azure/AWS environments.\nThe ideal candidate is equally comfortable troubleshooting production issues, building Infrastructure as code solutions, automating operational processes, implementing observability platforms, and partnering with development teams to improve reliability, security, and engineering efficiency.\nResponsibilities\nServe as a shared engineering resource supporting multiple software development teams across the organization.\nPartner with Engineering, Cloud Operations, Security, and Architecture teams to establish and maintain cloud infrastructure standards, operational practices, and platform capabilities.\nDesign, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies, including Pulumi.\nBuild and maintain reusable infrastructure templates, deployment patterns, automation frameworks, and platform services that improve developer productivity and operational consistency.\nSupport AWS cloud environments, including networking, security, identity and access management (IAM), monitoring, and operational governance.\nProvide operational support and troubleshooting for cloud environments, deployment pipelines, infrastructure components, and production services.\nServe as an escalation point for complex infrastructure, deployment, and operational issues requiring elevated cloud permissions and platform expertise.\nDesign, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation processes to support efficient and reliable software delivery.\nConfigure and support observability solutions, including application performance monitoring, centralized logging, dashboards, alerting, and operational reporting.\nImplement and maintain Dynatrace monitoring, dashboards, alerting configurations, and operational visibility standards across applications and services.\nParticipate in incident response activities, root cause analysis, post-incident reviews, and reliability improvement initiatives.\nDevelop and maintain operational runbooks, support documentation, platform standards, and engineering best practices.\nIdentify and remediate technical debt, infrastructure risks, operational gaps, and recurring reliability issues.\nCollaborate with Security teams to support vulnerability remediation, compliance initiatives, access governance, and secure cloud operations.\nAssist engineering teams with production readiness reviews, deployment planning, infrastructure design, and operational maturity initiatives.\nPromote Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, operational excellence, automation, and continuous improvement across engineering teams.\nEvaluate emerging cloud, automation, AI-enabled, and operational technologies that improve platform reliability, engineering efficiency, and service quality.\nMentor software engineers on cloud technologies, observability, infrastructure automation, operational best practices, and deployment strategies.\nApply AI-assisted practices across the software lifecycle, including design, development, testing, code review, deployment, monitoring, incident response, remediation, and continuous improvement.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field preferred.\n7 or more years of software engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, cloud engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) experience required.\nStrong experience designing, implementing, and supporting Azure/AWS cloud solutions in enterprise environments.\nExperience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies such as Pulumi, Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar platforms.\nExperience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation processes.\nStrong understanding of cloud networking, IAM, security controls, secrets management, and infrastructure governance practices.\nExperience implementing and supporting observability platforms, including monitoring, logging, dashboarding, runbooks, and alerting solutions.\nExperience with Dynatrace or comparable enterprise application performance monitoring and observability platforms.\nExperience troubleshooting production systems and participating in incident management and operational support processes.\nExperience developing automation solutions using scripting or programming languages such as TypeScript, Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar technologies.\nFamiliarity with containerization technologies, Kubernetes, serverless architectures, API-driven systems, and cloud-native application patterns preferred.\nKnowledge of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles, operational excellence frameworks, and service ownership practices preferred.\nExperience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Harness, JFrog, or similar delivery and artifact-management tools.\nExperience working within Agile software development environments and supporting multiple engineering teams simultaneously.\nStrong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering, operations, security, and business teams.\nExperience with cloud-cost management, resource sizing, capacity planning, autoscaling, workload optimization, and FinOps.\nExperience implementing AI-native software development or AI-enabled engineering operating models.\nAzure/AWS certifications, DevOps certifications, or equivalent industry certifications preferred.\nEstimated Hiring Range:\nAt Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances.
