The ideal candidate combines strong front-end and back-end engineering experience with expertise in cloud-native delivery, relational databases, automated testing, and production operations.\nResponsibilities\nDesign, develop, test, deploy, and maintain modern enterprise web applications using React, TypeScript, Node.js, and related technologies.\nDeliver application functionality across presentation, application, integration, and data layers.\nTranslate business and technical requirements into secure, maintainable, and production-ready software solutions.\nDevelop responsive, accessible, and intuitive user experiences using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern user-interface frameworks.\nBuild reusable user-interface components, shared libraries, and engineering patterns that can be adopted across product teams.\nOptimize front-end applications for performance, accessibility, responsiveness, testability, and maintainability.\nCollaborate with Product and user-experience partners to translate workflows and requirements into effective enterprise application experiences.\nImplement secure authentication, authorization, and session-management patterns in user-facing applications.\nDesign and develop RESTful APIs, backend services, and microservices using Node.js and TypeScript.\nBuild scalable services that support business workflows, analytics, AI-enabled capabilities, and enterprise integrations.\nImplement secure service-to-service communication, input validation, error handling, resiliency, and operational safeguards.\nIntegrate applications with internal platforms, APIs, event streams, analytical data platforms, and external enterprise systems.\nApply appropriate synchronous, asynchronous, and event-driven integration patterns.\nDesign and implement relational data models, schemas, and application data-access patterns.\nDevelop and optimize SQL queries, views, stored procedures, and persistence logic.\nApply indexing, query optimization, transaction management, and performance-tuning practices.\nBuild services that reliably consume and expose governed operational and analytical data.\nCollaborate with Data Engineers to integrate applications with trusted enterprise data products and analytical platforms.\nContribute to data quality, security, lineage, migration, and production-support activities.\nDevelop applications for cloud-native deployment and containerized runtime environments.\nSupport Docker and Kubernetes-based deployment patterns and participate in CI/CD automation.\nImplement structured logging, distributed tracing, application monitoring, health checks, alerting, and operational metrics.\nWrite and maintain automated unit, integration, contract, component, and end-to-end tests.\nSupport production troubleshooting, incident investigation, root cause analysis, remediation, and continuous improvement.\nApply secure coding, API security, dependency-management, and software supply-chain practices.\nWork with Architects to implement approved solution, security, data, and integration patterns.\nCollaborate with AI Engineers and Data Engineers to deliver intelligent, data-driven product capabilities.\nParticipate in product discovery, estimation, technical design, code reviews, testing, release planning, and operational-readiness activities.\nMentor engineers and contribute to shared development standards, technical documentation, reusable components, and engineering accelerators.\nUse AI-assisted engineering tools responsibly to improve research, software development, testing, documentation, code quality, and troubleshooting.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\nFive or more years of software engineering experience building and supporting enterprise applications.\nStrong hands-on experience with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and modern front-end development practices.\nStrong hands-on experience with Node.js, TypeScript, API design, and backend service development.\nExperience designing and implementing RESTful APIs, microservices, and enterprise integrations.\nStrong SQL and relational database skills, including data modeling, schema design, indexing, query optimization, and transaction management.\nExperience with relational database technologies such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, or comparable platforms.\nExperience consuming governed data from analytical platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or comparable technologies.\nExperience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, code reviews, and modern software delivery practices.\nKnowledge of cloud-native application architecture, containerized deployment, authentication, authorization, secure coding, and production operations.\nExperience implementing automated unit, integration, API contract, component, and end-to-end testing.\nExperience implementing application observability, including logging, monitoring, tracing, health checks, and operational metrics.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.\nExperience with Docker, Kubernetes, event-driven architectures, and enterprise messaging platforms preferred.\nExperience building analytics, reporting, workflow, dashboarding, or decision-support applications preferred.\nExperience integrating applications with AI-enabled or large language model services and agentic workflows preferred.\nExperience with Databricks, Delta Lake, Snowflake, or governed enterprise data products preferred.\nExperience with front-end state management, component testing, API contract testing, and end-to-end test automation preferred.\nExperience using AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, documentation, technical research, and troubleshooting preferred.\nExperience working in healthcare, supply chain, analytics, or another regulated and data-intensive environment preferred.\nRelevant cloud, software development, or technology certifications preferred.\nEstimated Hiring Range:\nAt Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances.
