You will help build and scale internal and client-facing data products that support retail media and e-commerce operations, with a strong focus on automation, AI-enabled workflows, and pragmatic tool development.\nThis role is hands-on and product-oriented: you will extend existing tools, ship new tools end-to-end, and work closely with Data Scientists, BI Engineers, and Data Delivery to ensure what we build is reliable, secure, and adopted by users.\nWhat you’ll be doing:\n Build and evolve web applications: Add features to existing tools and develop new internal/client-facing tools from scratch (UI, backend services, and integrations).\nDevelop data-centric services and APIs: Create robust backend services that connect to data warehouses/lakes, third-party APIs, and internal datasets to power decision workflows and reporting.\n Automation & reporting tooling: Build automation for reporting workflows (scheduling, configuration-driven pipelines, exports, alerts, and notifications).\n Content matching and enrichment tools: Implement systems that match/enrich content across catalogs and channels using rules + ML/AI where appropriate (deduping, similarity matching, classification).\n Web scraping utilities (where permitted): Design scraping/collection tools with strong engineering practices (rate limits, retries, monitoring), aligned with legal/compliance and platform terms. \nAI-assisted tools and integrations:\nBuild AI chat tools connected to internal knowledge and systems using MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers and tool/function calling.\nImplement AI features in existing dashboards and tools (explanations, insight summaries, anomaly narratives, guided exploration), with human-in-the-loop and quality safeguards.\n Cloud-native delivery: Develop and deploy on AWS and/or GCP (CI/CD, containers, secrets management, logging/monitoring).\nQuality, reliability, and security: Write tests, perform code reviews, apply secure coding practices, and ensure performance and maintainability in production.\nWhat we want from you:\n 5+ years building production web applications as a full stack developer/software engineer (seniority flexible; we care about real shipped systems).\nStrong Java backend development experience (e.g., Spring Boot or similar), including API design and service architecture.\nStrong Python development experience (e.g., FastAPI/Flask, automation, integrations, data-heavy services).\nExperience with scraping frameworks (Playwright/Selenium/Scrapy) and building compliant, resilient collectors.\nFull stack capability: working knowledge of modern front-end development (e.g., React/Vue/Angular, TypeScript/JavaScript, component-based UI).\nExperience building and operating cloud applications on AWS and/or GCP (compute, storage, IAM, networking basics). \nPractical experience with AI-assisted development workflows (e.g., Copilot/ChatGPT/Claude/Cursor), while maintaining strong engineering standards (reviews, testing, debugging).\nExperience integrating with LLM/AI APIs and building safe product experiences (guardrails, prompt/versioning discipline, evaluation, fallbacks).\nSolid software engineering fundamentals: testing strategy, clean architecture, Git workflows, documentation, and observability.\nStrong communication and stakeholder management skills in a cross-functional team.\nIf you know some of this, even better:\nExperience with MCP servers and tool-based AI agent architectures.\nExperience embedding AI capabilities into analytics experiences (dashboards, guided insights, conversational exploration).\nAgentic automation/orchestration tooling such as n8n and/or LangGraph (or similar).\nData platform integration experience (warehouse/lakehouse querying, semantic layers, role-based access).\nDevOps/tooling: Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, GitHub Actions/GitLab CI, monitoring (CloudWatch/Stackdriver), structured logging.\nExperience with authentication/authorization patterns (OAuth/OIDC, SSO), multi-tenant apps, and security reviews. \nWhat we can offer you:\nAlongside the opportunity to work with some of the most exciting brands around the world, we’ll also prioritise your career development and help you grow your skills.
