Working in a dynamic Agile environment, you will bridge the gap between design, marketing, and technology-collaborating directly with stakeholders and clients to turn complex requirements into seamless user experiences that actively boost conversions. If you are a self-motivated developer who thrives on end-to-end ownership, solving bespoke challenges, and staying at the absolute forefront of e-commerce tech (including headless solutions), we want to empower you to do your best work here.\nWhat you’ll be doing \nCreating high quality production-ready front-end code with Shopify \nCreating reusable Shopify components and theme areas \nDrive forward the quality - in code, unit testing, accessibility, performance, code reviews \nEnsure a smooth connection with Marketing Tools, Platform APIs, and Shopify Apps to optimise the shop for overall efficiency and functionality \nDeliver on an Agile workstream of front-end developers on a project, contributing to daily stand-ups, sprint planning and estimates \nAbility to converse confidently with technical and non-technical colleagues \nBuild modular layouts, reusable code and libraries for future use \nTo be comfortable representing front-end in a client-facing capacity \nWork with the design teams to create optimal front-end user experiences, leading to driving greater conversions \nCollaborating with technical and non-technical colleagues to escalate issues and highlight any areas that need wider team action \nCooperate with design and marketing teams to gather and refine specifications and requirements for development \nBe involved in existing and new integrations for the platform \nFull end-to-end ownership from idea to delivery, covering ongoing maintenance, expansion and scaling \nStay current with evolving standards and technologies, learning new skills as needed \nSupport of the recruitment process in technical tests and team fit assessments\nWhat we want from you\nMastery of semantic HTML5, CSS3 (SASS or LESS) and JavaScript (ES6+) adhering to industry defined coding standards \nSolid understanding of the Agile methodology i.e. Story point estimation, refinement, sprint planning, retrospective, sprint demos \nExtensive experience with the Shopify platform and the Liquid templating engine \nA desire to write readable, maintainable, modular, and extendable code \nBe an expert in all aspects of the Shopify ECommerce platform \nHave extensive testing and debugging abilities using the browser console and other tools \nKnowledge of current trends and best practices in front-end architecture, including performance optimization, accessibility, SEO, security and usability \nCommercial experience of using GIT in a large development team performing Continuous Integration \nExcellent communication skills and capability to interact directly with the team and stakeholders \nProficient understanding of fluid responsive layouts, cross-browser and cross-device compatibility issues \nCommercial experience of unit testing/End to end testing/regression testing (we use Jest and Cypress) \nHave previous experience implementing/debugging third-party Shopify apps, as well as building unique solutions if needed \nFamiliarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools such as Grunt and webpack \nHave working knowledge of third-party services and APIs, as well as Shopify plugins \nWillingness to contribute to both large, complex projects and smaller tasks as directed. \nGreat attitude, self-motivated, strong work ethic, with strong ownership \nHave experience of solving bespoke customer issues within the Shopify platform \nIf you know some of this even better\nCommercial experience in building headless solutions e.g SPA and/or PWA applications \nExperience in building rapid prototypes \nExperience with a Type Checking language either Flow or TypeScript (we use TypeScript) \nExperience of working on Java/Node/C#/PHP projects would be beneficial \nExperience of mentoring junior members of the team \nWhat we can offer you\nAlongside the opportunity to work with some of the most exciting brands around the world, we’ll also prioritise your career development and help you grow your skills.
