You will be responsible for the delivery of the full customer experience from the day-to-day operation, emergency response and client service delivery within the facilities.\nWhat you will be responsible for \nCritical facilities Management\nProviding exceptional customer service including timely communication to clients regarding facility operational matters, remote hands, remote support and facility related support.\nProcessing of customer request tickets.\nMonitoring facility infrastructure, access control and security\nProviding remote assistance to other Vocus Data Centres.\nResponding to facilities issues as they arise.\nLiaising with Telco’s and vendors to deliver cable and infrastructure deployments.\nPerforming cross connect installs and connections.\nAssisting in ensuring regular maintenance activities with contractors are completed successfully.\nAvailability for 24/7 on-call rotation roster for emergency response where required.\nFacilitating tours of the facility for potential and existing customers.\nAssisting in signing customers into and out of the site.\nImplementing and maintaining DC documentation and records.\nOperational checks and inspection of plant and equipment.\nAssisting other Vocus staff such as networking and provisioning teams.\nAssisting in the creation of regular reporting and site documentation.\nAssisting in maintaining the functionality and tidiness of the comms room and ODF infrastructure.\nAssist in site projects as required.\nFlexibility in operating out of any of the technical facilities, as required.\nTake proactive approach towards task and project execution.\nRaise any issue discovered.\nAssist in organizing maintenance agreements / proposals as required.\nRaising Purchase orders and processing as required.\nPerforming remote hands tasks, for customers as required.\nAssist in Facility and customer infrastructure assets as required.\nAssisting in receiving and managing delivery and logistics activities.\nAssist in site order and cleanliness activities.\nCommunicate and assist other Vocus teams as required.\nAdhere to both Vocus and local DC procedure and policies.\nPerform regular onsite WHS audits and assessments.\nAttend and complete training as required.\nProject Delivery\nWork with technical designs, specifications, and scopes of work for integration and upgrade projects.\nManage projects from concept through to implementation, ensuring delivery within agreed timelines and budgets.\nOversee vendor selection, procurement, and contractor management for system upgrades and integrations.\nContinuous Improvement & Innovation\nIdentify opportunities to enhance system performance, security, and user experience through emerging technologies and best practices.\nRecommend and implement improvements to data centre monitoring, access controls, and security frameworks to support business objectives.\nCompliance & Risk Management\nEnsure all designs, systems, and integration activities comply with relevant legislation, standards, and Vocus policies.\nConduct technical risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to ensure continuity of critical services during integration projects.\nStakeholder Engagement & Leadership\nCollaborate closely with internal teams, including Data Centre Operations, Security, IT, and Project Management, to ensure alignment of technical solutions with operational needs.\nProvide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to engineering and operational staff involved in integration projects.\nAct as the subject matter expert representing Technical Facilities in stakeholder discussions, vendor negotiations, and customer engagements.\nWhat you’ll bring\nSolid understanding of data communications services and systems\nKnowledge of electrical/mechanical systems and principles\nProficient in your understanding of Network Protocols - TCP/IP, Ethernet etc.\nNetwork installation and configuration knowledge\nKnowledge of network hardware - switches, routers and cabling\nExcellent communication skills, written and verbal\nA full valid C Class Driver’s License is required for this role\nPrevious Data Centre operations experience highly regarded\nTrade background -
