Opportunity\nAt Vocus, we’re building the next generation of Private Wireless (4G/5G) networks—and we’re looking for a RAN Engineer to join our growing team.\nBased at our Mitcham Data Centre location, this is an exciting opportunity for an early-career engineer to gain hands-on experience across the full radio network lifecycle, including design, deployment, integration, and optimisation. \nYou’ll work closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams, building technical capability in enterprise and mission-critical wireless environments.\nWhat you’ll be doing\nSupport the design, configuration, and deployment of Private Wireless RAN solutions\nAssist with site integration and commissioning, validating radio parameters and connectivity\nPerform basic troubleshooting of RAN issues with guidance from senior engineers\nContribute to radio optimisation activities, including performance analysis and tuning\nAssist with site surveys, testing, and field activities where required\nApply RF planning fundamentals to support coverage and capacity planning tasks\nPrepare technical documentation, including design packs, test reports, and as-built records\nMonitor network performance and escalate issues appropriately\nCollaborate with Core, Transmission, and support teams to enable end-to-end delivery\nParticipate in deployment activities and scheduled site visits\nContinuously build knowledge through training and development opportunities\nFollow engineering standards, processes, and safety requirements\nWhat you’ll bring\nDegree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar\nBasic understanding of mobile network architecture (4G/5G)\nFoundational knowledge of RF principles (propagation, interference, signal strength)\nFamiliarity with IP networking fundamentals\nStrong problem-solving and analytical skills\nExcellent communication and teamwork capability\nA genuine desire to learn and develop in telecommunications\nInternship or project experience in telecommunications or wireless networks\nExposure to RAN vendors such as Nokia or EricssonUnderstanding of RAN parameters and optimisation concepts (PCI, handovers, power settings)\nFamiliarity with drive test or RF planning tools (e.g. TEMS, Nemo)Exposure to Linux or scripting (Python)Understanding of Private Wireless network
