{"id":3786295,"url":"https://alion.io/job/vocus-sdwan-implementation-architect","title":"SDWAN Implementation Architect","company":{"id":50837,"name":"Vocus","domain":"vocus.io","url":"https://alion.io/company/vocus-io","size_band":"501-1000","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"Dayforce","truth_index":null},"role":"Networking","role_family":"Networking","seniority":"staff","employment_type":null,"work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Melbourne, Australia","Sydney, Australia","Australia"],"countries":["AU"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":null,"salary_estimate":null,"experience_years_min":null,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[{"name":"Ansible","optional":false},{"name":"Chef","optional":false},{"name":"Perl","optional":false},{"name":"Python","optional":false}],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-11-04T13:00:00Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-11-05","last_verified_at":"2026-11-08T08:24:06Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":3,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":3},"description":"The Opportunity\nAs our SD-WAN Implementation Architect, is a developing technical lead for customer deployments of managed network services, accountable for the solution design and configuring the SD WAN platforms for the customer. \nWith support from the Implementation team, they will take the high-level product offering and design compiled during the presales process, gather detailed requirements from the customer, create a low-level design and manage major aspects of the customer’s solution implementation, including the configuration of their network, security policies and firewalls. \nPartnering with Sales, Pre-Sales, Engineering, Provisioning, Operations, and Service Delivery teams, you'll ensure customers experience a seamless onboarding journey from solution design through to successful service activation.\nThis role can be based in either our North Sydney, Perth or Melbourne office locations.\nWhat You'll Be Doing\nWork directly with customers to gather detailed technical requirements and develop low-level design (LLD) documentation.\nLead technical workshops and design discussions covering solution architecture, migration strategies, operational requirements, and third-party integrations.\nManage the end-to-end implementation of customer solutions, ensuring delivery aligns with agreed project plans and customer expectations.\nConfigure and deploy SD-WAN, routing, switching, security, and firewall solutions.\nCreate and maintain deployment standards, configuration templates, and implementation documentation.\nProvide technical leadership and support to Implementation Engineers and broader delivery teams.\nTake ownership of technical deployment issues and escalations, working collaboratively across Engineering, Operations, Product, Logistics, and Support teams.\nAct as the subject matter expert (SME) for vendor platforms including Fortinet SD-WAN and Cisco Meraki.\nDevelop repeatable delivery methodologies, playbooks, and best-practice frameworks to support scalable customer deployments.\nCapture lessons learned from customer implementations and drive continuous improvement across delivery and operational processes.\nMaintain current industry and vendor certifications while continually developing technical expertise.\nWhat You'll Bring\nExperience in a lead delivery engineer / solution architect role in a carrier or managed service provider environment. \nExperience and formal certification in vendor platforms, including Fortinet and Cisco.
