This role focuses on developing secure, reliable, and high-performing applications using modern technologies such as Java (v17+), Spring Boot, and AWS. The individual will be part of an agile development squad, contributing to digital platforms used by millions of customers while continuously improving both technical solutions and personal capabilities.\nWhat you’ll do\nDevelop and maintain microservices as part of an agile (Scrum/Kanban) development squad\nDesign and implement RESTful APIs within a microservices architecture\nEnsure high standards of quality and performance using best practices and coding standards\nContribute to a culture of continuous improvement through learning, training, and peer collaboration\nImplement testing strategies including TDD/BDD, unit, integration, end-to-end, and performance testing\nSupport production environments, including troubleshooting and issue triage during on-call rotations\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to build customer-centric digital solutions\nCoach and support junior developers within the team\nWho you are\nExperienced in Java (version 17 or higher) with strong knowledge of Spring/Spring Boot\nSkilled in designing and developing RESTful APIs within microservices architectures\nFamiliar with design patterns and clean coding principles\nKnowledgeable in testing methodologies such as TDD/BDD and various testing frameworks\nExperience working in agile environments such as Scrum or Kanban\nUnderstanding of AWS services or similar cloud platforms\nFamiliar with containerisation tools such as Docker\nKnowledge of monitoring and observability tools; experience with APM tools such as Dynatrace or Splunk is beneficial\nCapable of production support and troubleshooting in live environments\nStrong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders\nCollaborative team player with sound decision-making abilities and a problem-solving mindset\nNot a perfect fit?\nConcerned you may not meet every requirement?
