The individual will play a key role in maintaining automation stability, resolving issues, collaborating with operational teams, and contributing to the development, testing, and deployment of new automation initiatives. This role suits individuals with strong scripting capability, hands-on problem-solving skills, and experience in IP and transmission networking.\nWhat you will do\nAct as the first point of contact for automation-related queries, resolving or escalating issues promptly.\nSupport the smooth running of automation tools and scripts to minimise disruptions.\nCollaborate with operational teams to gather requirements, document processes, and identify automation opportunities.\nAssist in testing, deploying, and monitoring new and existing automation workflows to ensure they meet operational and quality standards.\nMaintain accurate documentation of automation assets, changes, and incident records.\nContribute to user guides, training materials, and internal knowledge-sharing sessions.\nParticipate in process reviews and suggest improvements aligned with digital transformation objectives.\nDemonstrate continuous learning and adaptability to new automation tools and emerging technologies.\nWho you are\n7-8 years of experience supporting automation, scripting, or digital tooling.\nProficiency in Python, including experience with libraries such as pexpect; familiarity with Bash, PowerShell, or Java is desirable.\nExperience in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.\nStrong understanding of APIs, database management, and SQL.\nKnowledge of IP and transmission networking; Network+ or CCNA certification is advantageous.\nExposure to DevOps or software engineering environments is beneficial.\nAnalytical mindset with strong communication and collaboration skills.\nAbility to work 9 AM-5 PM UK hours.\nDegree or equivalent experience preferred.\nNot a perfect fit\nConcerned you may not meet every requirement?
