This role is responsible for designing, developing and maintaining modern, scalable and user-centric web applications using contemporary front-end frameworks, with a particular focus on React and Angular. The successful candidate will work across multiple applications built on different technology stacks, collaborating closely with designers, backend engineers, product teams and clients to deliver high-quality digital experiences.\nIn addition to software development responsibilities, the role provides technical consultancy and guidance to stakeholders, helping them make informed decisions regarding technologies, solution design and product roadmaps while ensuring high standards of usability, accessibility, performance and maintainability.\nWhat you’ll do\nDevelop responsive, accessible and high-quality user interfaces using modern front-end frameworks, including React and Angular.\n\nCreate clean, maintainable and efficient code that aligns with business requirements and design specifications.\n\nWork across multiple applications and adapt to different front-end frameworks, architectures and development standards.\n\nCollaborate with designers to transform wireframes and design concepts into engaging, user-friendly web experiences.\n\nEnsure consistent functionality and user experience across devices, browsers and screen sizes.\n\nPartner with backend developers to integrate front-end components with APIs and server-side services.\n\nWork closely with product managers and stakeholders to deliver solutions aligned with project objectives and timelines.\n\nParticipate throughout the software development lifecycle, including planning, design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance.\n\nConduct peer code reviews and support quality assurance activities to maintain development standards.\n\nTroubleshoot, debug and resolve technical issues efficiently.\n\nImplement front-end optimisation techniques, including lazy loading, caching and performance improvements.\n\nPromote engineering best practices including version control, continuous integration and code review processes.\n\nCreate and maintain technical documentation, component libraries, development guides and user-facing documentation.\n\nExplore emerging technologies, frameworks and tools, sharing knowledge with colleagues to support innovation and continuous improvement.\n\nProvide technical consultancy to clients on technology choices, development methodologies and solution roadmaps.\n\nBuild strong stakeholder relationships through proactive communication, problem solving and delivery excellence.\n\nGather client feedback, provide project updates and support alignment between technical delivery and business objectives.\n\nContribute to onboarding activities and knowledge-transfer sessions for new team members.\n\nPromote knowledge sharing through documentation, mentoring and collaborative working practices.\n\nContribute to departmental initiatives, strategic projects, process improvements and cross-functional activities.\n\nWho you are\nMinimum 3 years of experience in front-end development using modern JavaScript frameworks.\n\nProven hands-on experience working with both React and Angular in production environments.\n\nStrong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.\n\nExperience working with front-end build tools and package management solutions.\n\nFamiliarity with RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL integrations.\n\nStrong understanding of responsive design, cross-browser compatibility and web accessibility principles.\n\nExperience with version control systems and software build tools.\n\nKnowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies within collaborative delivery environments.\n\nStrong problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.\n\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and projects within a fast-paced environment.\n\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.\n\nCommitment to continuous learning and professional development.\n\nExperience with state management libraries would be beneficial.\n\nKnowledge of server-side rendering frameworks would be advantageous.\n\nFamiliarity with front-end testing frameworks is desirable.\n\nBasic understanding of UI/UX principles and usability best practices.\n\nExperience with CSS preprocessors such as SASS or LESS, or CSS-in-JS approaches, would be beneficial.\n\nExposure to CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure would be advantageous.\n\nNot a perfect fit?\nConcerned you may not meet every requirement?
