This partnership is a unique, industry-first model which brings together the best of in-house and 3rd party capability.\nWe work with customers across 28 countries from 10 VOIS locations: Albania, Egypt, Hungary, India, Romania, Spain, Turkey, UK, Germany, Ireland, and with a network of teams in Czech Republic, Italy, Greece, and Portugal.\n#VOIS #BeUnrivalled #CreateTheFuture\nAbout this Role\nWe are seeking an IP LAN Design Engineer to design and deliver IP LAN, Gi/Service LAN, Office IT network and data centre capabilities that support reliable and secure hosted and collaborative services across Vodafone’s European network.\nBased in Bucharest and reporting to the Team Leader, IP Engineering, you will be accountable for low-level design, network implementation, optimisation, testing and quality assurance across local-market IP LAN, Office IT and data centre environments. You will work with technologies including routers, switches, load balancers, carrier-grade network address translation, DNS, VPN concentrators, firewalls, public key infrastructure and proxies.\nThe role includes translating customer connectivity requirements into effective designs, following central architecture guidelines and collaborating with network operations, IT, local technology teams and engineering stakeholders across multiple countries\nWhat you’ll do\nImplement the Data Core IP LAN and Integrity Evolution Plan within the relevant local markets.\nAlign local engineering implementation across cluster countries with regional designs, standards and technology roadmaps.\nExecute the regional engineering strategy for IP LAN and network integrity.Own country-level IP LAN low-level designs.\nDefine reusable templates and support the modularisation and standardisation of configuration items.Design and deploy network solutions that meet capacity, capability and utilisation requirements for services and applications.\nDevelop implementation processes that support consistent quality and efficient delivery.Contribute to the simplification and harmonisation of network infrastructure and help reduce design and implementation costs.\nSupport budget execution for IP LAN and network integrity activities across the cluster countries.Define, plan and schedule network interventions while supporting the change management process.Perform quality assurance and optimisation throughout network design and implementation.\nTest, accept and audit deployed solutions.Hand over accepted solutions to operations and maintenance teams.\nProduce and maintain testing, quality assurance and network documentation.Harmonise IP LAN, Office LAN and data centre environments across European markets.\nEnable secure and reliable access across converged wired and wireless networks, including guest services and third-party connectivity.Promote network standards across local markets.\nSupport network innovation and continuous improvement.\nBuild effective working relationships with network operations, IT, local technology teams and engineering stakeholders.Support configuration activities, special projects and the resolution of emergency situations.\nAnalyse network performance and identify opportunities for optimisation\nWho you are\nYou have at least three years of experience in Cisco ACI design and integration, including Multi-Site and Multi-Pod deployments in both network-centric and application-centric environments.\nYou hold a university degree in telecommunications or a related technical field and have relevant professional experience.\nYou have solid knowledge of network design, network architecture and Office LAN environments.\nYou understand TCP/IP, network protocols, structures, hardware and security principles.You have experience installing and configuring routers, switches, VPN gateways, firewalls, proxies and related network components.\nYou understand routing protocols, voice over IP, wireless LAN, DHCP, DNS and Active Directory.\nYou have knowledge of network management, monitoring and analysis.\nYou understand security policies, encryption, authentication, authorisation, accounting, 802.1X, public key infrastructure and certificates.You bring operational experience and can translate complex requirements into practical network solutions.\nYou have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.You can collaborate effectively across functions, countries and cultures.\nYou have experience coordinating projects, activities or technical workstreams.You can build productive relationships with stakeholders across different markets.\nYou are focused on network quality, customer outcomes and measurable results.You are comfortable identifying and supporting opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement\nNot a perfect fit?\nConcerned you may not meet every requirement?
