If you want to grow your career whilst finding the perfect balance between work and life, Vodafone offers the opportunities to help you belong and make a real impact.\nAt Vodafone, Cyber Security plays a critical role in protecting our networks, systems, customers and critical infrastructure from an evolving cyber threat landscape.\nWe are looking for an experienced Cyber Defence Specialist with at least 5 years of relevant Cyber Security experience to strengthen our Cyber Defence capability.\nYou will be responsible for detecting, investigating and responding to cyber threats, assessing emerging vulnerabilities and attack techniques, proactively identifying security weaknesses, and continuously improving our monitoring and defensive capabilities.\nThis is a hands-on technical role for someone who combines strong Cyber Security expertise with an investigative mindset and can translate complex technical findings into clear risk, business impact and remediation priorities.\nWhat you’ll do\nMonitor, analyse and investigate security events, alerts and suspicious activity across endpoints, networks, identities, cloud environments and applications; \nPerform proactive threat hunting, using available security telemetry and threat intelligence to identify potentially malicious activity;\nDevelop and continuously improve security monitoring and detection use cases, correlation rules and detection logic;\nAssess emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities and exploits to determine potential exposure and relevance to Vodafone;\nSupport the prioritisation of vulnerabilities based on exploitability, threat intelligence, asset criticality and potential business impact;\nWork with relevant teams to improve security telemetry, visibility and detection coverage;\nAnalyse indicators of compromise including suspicious IP addresses and network activity;\nWork closely with SOC, Incident Response, Network, Infrastructure, Cloud, Application Security and Secure by Design teams to investigate and reduce cyber risk;\nContribute to Red Team, Blue Team and Purple Team activities.\nWho you are\nStrong investigative and analytical mindset; Naturally curious and comfortable working with incomplete or ambiguous information; \nDistinguishes between a security alert, a technical vulnerability and a material Cyber Security risk;\nRemains calm and make sound decisions under stress;\nTakes ownership of an investigation from initial detection through analysis, remediation and closure;\nChallenge assumptions and follow technical evidence to reach a conclusion;\nCommunicates complex technical issues clearly to both technical teams and senior stakeholders;\nWorks effectively across Cyber Security, Technology, Network and Operational teams;\nProactive in identifying opportunities to improve Vodafone’s defensive capabilities;\nBuild strong and effective relationships with Cyber team members, local and global and with other technology and business stakeholders;\nFluency in the English language.\nNot a perfect fit?\nWorried that you don’t meet all the desired criteria exactly?
