This role focuses on monitoring, automation, and proactive reliability engineering while working closely with development teams to design resilient systems and reduce manual operational effort.\nWhat you’ll do\nMonitor application and platform availability and reliability, ensuring agreed service levels are met.\nUse software engineering practices to automate operational tasks and achieve low-touch or zero-touch operations.\nDesign and enhance system and software architectures to improve scalability, capacity, performance, and reliability.\nDefine, implement, promote, and monitor service level objectives (SLOs) and service level indicators (SLIs) in collaboration with product owners and development teams.\nWrite automation code for provisioning and operating infrastructure at scale.\nPartner with development teams to ensure reliability and scalability are built into applications from the design stage.\nBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation for deploying applications into production environments.\nParticipate in an on-call rotation to support applications and infrastructure.\nInvestigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and document post-incident reviews with remediation recommendations.\nDocument, share, and actively promote knowledge across teams and stakeholders.\nEngage with internal and external stakeholders to communicate complex technical topics and support the adoption of improved technology solutions.\nWho you are\nHold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.\nHave a minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in software engineering and/or IT support roles.\nDemonstrate strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills.\nAre adaptable, open-minded, and comfortable working in environments with rapidly evolving technologies.\nHave experience working within multicultural and geographically distributed teams.\nAre able to navigate complex organisational environments and translate complexity into practical, simple solutions.\nBring hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform and its managed services.\nHave coding experience using languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or Scala.\nPossess strong Linux and system administration skills.\nShow solid understanding of networks, databases, DNS, proxies, security, and web application architectures.\nAre familiar with SQL, relational databases, and NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB.\nHave experience with containerisation and orchestration tools including Docker and Kubernetes.\nAre comfortable working with infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools, and version control systems.\nWork in an agile environment and demonstrate a delivery-focused, customer-centred mindset with strong English communication skills.\nNot a perfect fit?\nConcerned you may not meet every requirement?
