As a Field Engineer, you'll play a hands-on role in installing, commissioning and maintaining Vodafone's fixed and mobile network infrastructure, helping to deliver reliable connectivity and business solutions for customers across the UK. You'll enjoy a varied role that combines technical problem-solving, customer interaction and working in diverse environments, from network sites and rooftops to customer locations.\nYou will:\nInstall, commission and maintain network equipment, products and services to the highest quality and safety standards.\nWork across a range of technologies including mobile networks, transmission systems, microwave radio, fibre and copper infrastructure, power systems and customer networking equipment.\nDiagnose and resolve faults efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption for customers and network services.\nClimb towers and work at height on Vodafone infrastructure, maintaining the required safety certifications and health standards.\nCollaborate with field delivery teams, network operations centres, project teams, vendors, suppliers and business customers to deliver successful outcomes.\nProvide a professional, customer-focused experience through clear communication and timely updates.\nIdentify opportunities to improve processes, challenge existing ways of working and contribute to operational excellence.\nParticipate in a 24/7 callout rota and/or shift patterns when required, supporting critical network operations.\nTravel to sites as needed and work flexibly to support business and customer requirements.\nMaintain strict adherence to Vodafone's Health, Safety and Environmental standards, ensuring safe working practices at all times.\nWho you are\nA qualified telecoms or electronics professional, or someone with equivalent hands-on industry experience.\nExperience installing, supporting and troubleshooting telecoms and networking technologies.\nKnowledge of technologies such as Cisco, Juniper and ADVA equipment, DWDM, Ethernet, 3G/4G/5G networks, microwave radio, power systems, fibre and copper cabling.\nSomeone who enjoys working both independently and as part of a wider team.\nConfidence working in a physically active role, including climbing, lifting, working outdoors and operating at height.\nAbility to stay focused under pressure and manage competing priorities effectively.\nA proactive problem-solver who is adaptable and eager to learn new technologies and skills.\nStrong customer service and communication skills with a professional approach.\nGood IT literacy and confidence using digital tools and systems.\nA full UK/EU Category B driving licence.\nAbility to obtain and maintain Security Clearance (SC).\nAbility to achieve and maintain Advanced Climber/Tower Rescue certification and meet regular health assessment requirements.\nDesirable qualifications such as an HND, degree or relevant technical certifications (e.g. Cisco CCNA/CCNP).\nExperience with wireless networking, LAN/WiFi environments or unified communications solutions would be advantageous.\nClimbing Engineer CAT1\n\nWorried that you don’t meet all the desired criteria exactly?\nWe know that everyone is unique, with multiple aspects to their identity and different experiences behind them.
