About this Role

We are seeking an experienced DC Network Engineer to join our DC Network Design team in Bucharest. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and evolving the network infrastructure in our Data Centers. Your expertise will help ensure security, reliability, and high availability while also planning and implementing modern network solutions. You will work with innovative technologies and play a key role in transitioning legacy setups into standardized architectures. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize network policies, ensuring seamless performance across all services.

What you’ll do

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and project teams on setting the priorities and type of connectivity needed and deploy the network fit for purpose by applying Vodafone Group best practices for security, capacity, capability or redundancy in order to have best in class services and applications.
  • Deploy new infrastructure (physical and virtual) in our Data Centers and/or deploy new solutions over existing infrastructure
  • Design and plan migration of traffic as part of our continuous Life Cycle Management activities
  • Capacity expansion (analysis and planning) aiming to provide best services for our stakeholders

Who you are

  • Strong knowledge of Data Centre topologies with minimum 3 years hands-on experience
  • Good knowledge of network equipment operation (Cisco router and switches, F5 Load Balancers, Fortinet and Juniper Firewalls)
  • Associate certifications on vendors like Cisco, Fortinet and/or Juniper (professional certification is a plus)
  • University degree in technology [e.g. engineering, telecommunications, computer science]
  • Deep network knowledge, being able to lead the technical aspects into Data Centre projects
  • International experience and background in a multi-cultural business environment, as well as the ability to work across an international and distributed team in a complex business environment, fluent in English
