This role is focused on building, operating, automating, and continuously improving Google Cloud Platform services that support applications, analytics platforms, automation workloads, and data solutions. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring platform reliability, security, observability, scalability, and cost efficiency while enabling the onboarding of new services and solutions. This opportunity is ideally suited to professionals with strong GCP engineering expertise, infrastructure automation experience, and a collaborative Agile delivery mindset.\nWhat you’ll do\nBuild, operate, and maintain platform services across Google Cloud Platform.\nSupport the onboarding of applications, automation workloads, data pipelines, and internal platform services.\nProvision, configure, and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices.\nDevelop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, and automated deployment processes.\nManage GCP services including IAM, VPC, GCS, BigQuery, GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Composer, Pub/Sub, Cloud Logging, and Cloud Monitoring.\nImplement and maintain security guardrails covering access management, secrets management, compliance, tagging, and governance standards.\nManage Kubernetes-based workloads and containerised platforms using Docker and GKE.\nTroubleshoot and resolve platform issues across compute, networking, storage, orchestration, monitoring, and identity layers.\nCreate and maintain reusable Terraform modules, deployment frameworks, operational runbooks, SOPs, and technical documentation.\nSupport platform operations including upgrades, patching, vulnerability remediation, incident response, and access reviews.\nMonitor platform performance, reliability, and utilisation, identifying opportunities for service optimisation and automation.\nCollaborate within Agile teams, contributing to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and continuous improvement activities.\nWho you are\nDegree or higher qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.\nMinimum 5 years of professional experience in cloud engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, or related fields.\nStrong hands-on experience configuring, deploying, and managing services within Google Cloud Platform.\nExperience with GCP services including IAM, VPC, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Composer, Pub/Sub, Monitoring, and Logging.\nStrong expertise in Terraform or comparable Infrastructure as Code solutions.\nExperience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines and Git-based development workflows.\nGood understanding of Kubernetes, Docker, networking concepts, firewall rules, service accounts, private connectivity, and secrets management.\nProficiency in Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages.\nAbility to diagnose and resolve complex cloud platform issues across multiple technology layers.\nExperience creating operational documentation, runbooks, support procedures, and implementation standards.\nKnowledge of platform maintenance activities including patching, upgrades, vulnerability remediation, and governance processes.\nExperience working within Agile delivery frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe.\nStrong communication, stakeholder engagement, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.\nExperience with Airflow/Cloud Composer, BigQuery operations, data pipelines, Dataflow, or Spark workloads is advantageous.\nExposure to Site Reliability Engineering practices, production support, incident response, and automation-driven operations is preferred.\nNot a perfect fit?\nConcerned you may not meet every requirement?
