This role is focused on ensuring service stability, availability, resilience, security and operational excellence across business-critical production environments. The successful candidate will lead technical incident recovery, drive continual service improvement, leverage observability and automation practices, and support the adoption of responsible AI/AIOps capabilities to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.\nWhat you will do\nOwn the operational health, performance and supportability of AWS-hosted microservices and REST API services.\nTroubleshoot issues across applications, APIs, containers, networking, DNS, identity and security layers.\nUnderstand and analyse end-to-end service flows, dependencies, API gateways, authentication mechanisms and data pathways.\nCoordinate with cloud, network, security, database, service management and vendor teams to restore services efficiently. \nLead and support major incident recovery activities, root cause analysis and preventive improvement initiatives. \nMonitor and improve SLA/KPI performance across Incident, Problem, Change and Service Request processes. \nMaintain operational documentation, runbooks, escalation procedures and readiness artefacts. \nTroubleshoot AWS VPC, Route 53, WAF, load balancing and connectivity issues. \nMonitor and support Amazon EKS/Kubernetes clusters, including nodes, pods, services, deployments, ingress configurations and auto-scaling behaviours. \nExecute approved recovery, rollback and scaling activities in alignment with operational controls and governance requirements.\nCorrelate logs, metrics, traces and transaction data to diagnose failures across distributed services. \nBuild and enhance dashboards, alerts, health checks and proactive monitoring capabilities. \nAutomate operational activities using Shell scripting, Python and AWS-native services. \nSupport responsible AI/AIOps initiatives including anomaly detection, event correlation, incident summarisation and guided remediation.\nProvide technical guidance to support teams and contribute to service governance, reporting and continual improvement activities.\nWho you are\nYou bring 7+ years of IT operations or application support experience with hands-on ownership of production services.\nYou have proven experience supporting AWS-hosted microservices and REST API solutions. \nYou possess strong operational expertise in Amazon EKS and Kubernetes environments. \nYou have hands-on troubleshooting experience across AWS VPC, Route 53, WAF and cloud networking services. \nYou have strong knowledge of REST APIs, HTTP protocols, authentication, authorisation, TLS, latency management and error handling.\nYou are proficient with Linux/Unix administration, log analysis and Shell or Python scripting. \nYou have experience with observability tools such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Kibana, Splunk, Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus or similar platforms. \nYou understand ITIL processes including Incident, Problem, Change and Service Request Management. \nYou have excellent analytical, stakeholder management, collaboration and communication skills.
