We are seeking a motivated Backend Software Engineer to join our Digital Experience Layer (DxL) engineering team. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of backend services that power digital channels and customer-facing applications. You will work closely with other engineers, architects, product teams, and QA to build scalable, secure, and high-performing backend solutions while following modern software engineering practices. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to grow their technical skills and gain experience working with cloud-native applications and microservices.\nWhat you’ll do\nDesign, develop, and maintain backend applications and services; \nDevelop RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot; \nContribute to the implementation of scalable and reliable microservices; \nCollaborate with frontend engineers and other cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions; \nWrite clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices; \nParticipate in code reviews and technical discussions; \nTroubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues; \nSupport the continuous improvement of application performance, reliability, and maintainability; \nContribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes; \nWork within Agile/Scrum teams to deliver high-quality software. \nWho you are\nDegree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience); \nExperience with Java and Spring Boot; \nUnderstanding of REST APIs and backend application development; \nKnowledge of microservices architecture principles; \nExperience with Git and Maven; \nFamiliarity with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MongoDB); \nUnderstanding of unit and integration testing (e.g. JUnit, Mockito); \nExposure to Docker and containerized applications is a plus; \nBasic understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is an advantage; \nFamiliarity with CI/CD concepts and DevOps practices is desirable; \nUnderstanding of Clean Code principles and software design fundamentals; \nGood analytical and problem-solving skills; \nStrong communication and collaboration skills; \nWillingness to learn, receive feedback, and continuously develop technical skills. \nNot a perfect fit?\nWorried that you don’t meet all the desired criteria exactly?
