With our extensive range of products and services, we help all kinds of organisations - from small, local businesses to multi-national corporations - unlocking the potential of new technologies, including 5G, AI and the Internet of Things (IoT).\n\nWhat you’ll do\nWe are looking for a skilled and customer-focused Field Engineer to help deliver excellent service across Scottish Power's strategic telecommunications network throughout Scotland, including interfaces with the SSEN and National Grid telecommunications networks. This role supports Vodafone's ongoing managed service partnership and plays a key part in ensuring network reliability and performance.\nYou will provide professional field engineering support across both service delivery and assurance activities, contributing to the successful operation and maintenance of critical utility infrastructure. The role includes participation in a 24/7/365 support and maintenance service, helping to respond to network issues and carry out planned maintenance activities.\nWorking closely with project engineers and wider delivery teams, you will support the successful implementation of projects and operational activities, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and customer experience are maintained.\nSupport the successful delivery of projects, ensuring work is completed in line with agreed timelines, budgets, quality standards, and health & safety requirements, while adhering to Vodafone and customer engineering standards.\nComplete project documentation accurately and on time, providing support to Project Engineers and wider delivery teams.\nMonitor project progress against agreed plans and contribute ideas and solutions to help keep delivery on track.\nIdentify potential issues, dependencies, and risks, escalating them appropriately and supporting effective resolution.\nCommunicate clearly and proactively with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment throughout project delivery.\nAssist in delivering technical, testing, and quality activities in accordance with agreed project requirements.\nMaintain accurate project records and undertake necessary administrative tasks to support successful delivery.\nCollaborate with colleagues across teams to drive positive customer outcomes and continuous improvement.\n\nWhat you are\nExperience in telecommunications, networking, field engineering, maintenance, commissioning, or related technical environments.\nKnowledge of IP networking technologies, including WAN, LAN, routing, switching, and MPLS, or a willingness to develop expertise in these areas.\nExperience supporting, installing, or maintaining telecommunications infrastructure, such as SDH, PDH, Comtel, Microwave Radio, or similar technologies.\nFamiliarity with networking solutions and equipment, including Cisco, Alcatel, or comparable platforms.\nStrong organisational, problem-solving, and prioritisation skills, with the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.\nEffective communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.\nConfidence using Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and other digital collaboration tools.\nA commitment to quality, safety, continuous improvement, and delivering excellent customer outcomes.
