You will work closely with application teams to maintain end-to-end service stability and availability while contributing to continual service improvement.\nThe role also provides exposure to Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, AI-driven optimisation, CRM and end-to-end operations, with a focus on improving operational efficiency.\nWhat you will do\nAdminister and support production Oracle databases and associated database environments.\nAnalyse database and application performance bottlenecks, including scripts, code and user-generated queries that contribute to application slowness.\nPerform database and SQL performance tuning, including support for DML operations.\nSupport database upgrades and migrations from older to newer versions, including integration with other RDBMS technologies.\nManage database configuration, architecture and day-to-day operational administration.\nWork with memory, storage, cluster and high-availability architectures.\nSupport database backup and recovery activities.\nManage user access and contribute to security audits.\nParticipate in auditing and SOX compliance activities.\nMonitor database environments using tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager and Grafana.\nUse observability and monitoring platforms such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Kibana, Splunk or Zabbix for log analysis, alert tuning, dashboards and proactive monitoring.\nWork closely and collaboratively with application teams to support database operations.\nUse ticketing tools to manage operational incidents and service requests.\nProvide on-call support for high-priority database issues.\nDevelop and maintain UNIX, shell and other scripts to automate BAU operational activities and improve system stability.\nHandle UNIX jobs and batch processes, tune existing processes and develop new processes where required.\nContribute to proactive monitoring, automation, reconciliation and continual service improvement.\nApply SRE practices and support AI-driven optimisation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.\nWho you are\nYou have 7-10 years of relevant application database support and administration experience, including at least seven years of proficient application database support operations experience.\nYou have hands-on experience administering Oracle databases across multiple versions.\nYou understand Oracle and non-Oracle database architecture.\nYou have practical expertise in database and SQL performance tuning.\nYou have experience configuring databases and providing operational support.\nYou understand memory architecture, storage architecture, cluster architecture and high-availability environments.\nYou have advanced UNIX knowledge and practical experience with shell scripting and at least one additional scripting language, such as Perl.\nYou have experience with database upgrades, migrations, backup and recovery, user access management and security auditing.\nYou understand proactive monitoring, automation, reconciliation and continual service improvement.\nYou have experience with monitoring and observability technologies such as Enterprise Manager, Grafana, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Kibana, Splunk or Zabbix.\nYou can perform log analysis, alert tuning and dashboard-based proactive monitoring.\nYou bring effective analytical, communication, stakeholder-management and technical-leadership skills.\nYou hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.\nITIL certification is desirable.\nKnowledge of telecommunications would be an advantage.\nNot a Perfect Fit?\nConcerned you may not meet every requirement?
